Authenticity And Sexuality

Hey guys,

I am a heterosexual male who likes women right now. I recently watched the video How to be a man part 2 and it triggered a worry inside me. That's is if I am enlightened, will I become gay? Like I am obviously attracted to women's bodies but I am worried that I might turn gay if I go for enlightenment.

Just need some opinions thanks.

@Ross Why is this a worry?

Edit: maybe better to ask yourself this question and make it a subject of deep inquiry.

When I had my enlightenment experiences, among many other revelations, I realized that I'm bi-sexual and that I had been lying to myself by telling myself things like "I just think women are pretty." or "I'm just used to relating the female image to sexuality" or other things like that. I realized that I had always been attracted to women for my entire life, and that I had been denying it because I didn't want to have to tell people and risk being rejected or judged. So, enlightenment won't effect your sexual preferences. But it will reveal to you what's real and authentic to you because there's no "self" to protect from judgment or unwanted identifications. So, if you're attracted to a woman then you'll be okay with that. Or if you're attracted to a man, you'll be okay with that. You'll just recognize your attractions as sensations in the body and nothing more. You won't make them mean anything about a particular self or fear divergence with any cherished self-images.

Interesting question. I think that many people are struggling with "fear of enlightenment". For example, I worry that if I become enlightened, I'm going to leave my partner who I really love (but authentically? I don't know).

I think that it's important to examine the worry. Why are you afraid of becoming gay? Would something bad happed if you did?

It's just that I have never found a SINGLE man attractive in my life. Always women.   But I was looking in the comment section on Leo's video about how to be a man part 2 and I saw that Leo commented that the way to test your masculinity is to go have sex with a man, which I think if you are heterosexual it's wrong on so many levels.

I watched that video by Leo , he did not suggest one should suck a dick instead he suggested how would you know UNLESS you sucked a dick ..
Obedient listener seems to be in the know ? lol kidding. To me it also sounds like your predisposed to the notion where as others are repelled.

Don't think to much about the idea .. Curiosity killed the cat and Aids kills the Ass grinders

it has become clear to me that we activelly shut down awareness of genitals etc when interacting socially (clothes might be another expression of this) and that everytime i fully open up to a experience- any experience, even meditating- sexual energies are also involved.

but to jump from there and make assumptions about sexual preferences is unskillful (to put it mildly). the energy is yours, it's your doing, its an integral part of your being, and probably not as much related to circumstances as you might think. just use them for whatever you think its best

"I gently pushed my hand into my pocket and pulled the last one out, it trembled at first and clung to my hand. "Go on, it will be ok," I whispered. Encouraged, it flexed its wings and I knew the time was right. It flew up towards the blue, blue sky and I looked proudly as it's made its way to freedom. The last of my fucks was finally given."
