Consciousness or Bodily Functions?

14 posts in this topic

Notice how so-called infinite consciousness doesn't actually extend any further than the natural bodies senses and imagination.

For example, your not actually aware of what your neighbors had for dinner and what movie they watched before bed.

A bird could fly over head and shit, and you wouldn't be conscious of it, until it landed on your head.

You also aren't aware of what's happening at the 711 fuel station in Stuttgart Germany right now.

Sounds like this amazing consciousness bit isn't really all it was chalked up to be.

The body can see, hear, feel, smell, taste, think/imagine(intellect)

Is consciousness actually something other than this?

Can it?

Have you read/heard reports of out of body experiences? The body is a thought. It does not posses consciousness, there's no hierarchy.

And not even. ☺️ (Which might be the subtle point of the post)

Can you focus, ‘choose’ a different thought?

Try it with ‘body’.

Apparently, the body can smell something tasty baking, follow the smell(mouth salivating) hear the oven timer go off, open the oven to see what is inside, reach in for the grab and burn its hand on the top oven rack, jerk and scream ouch, and then think how it should have grabbed the oven mit first. Put on an oven mit and reach back in more careful this time and pull out a strawberry muffin, take a bite and burn its mouth lol, then grab for the almond milk in the fridge. Mmm it's still ?

Have you read/heard reports of out of body experiences?

Yes of course, I was a Die Hard seeker before, and must have read a dozen of them or so, I have even experienced them several times on psychedelics years ago and also sober.

The body is a thought.

I wonder if you can keep this state of mind if your finger tips got pinched off in a dump truck bed removing a jammed rock or getting OC sprayed in the eyes at a protest. (Seems like senses w/ accompanying thoughts)

It does not posses consciousness,

Yes, the claim was consciousness is getting mistaken for bodily senses and imagination or thought.

there's no hierarchy.

hi·er·ar·chy:

noun

a system or organization in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status or authority.

"the initiative was with those lower down in the hierarchy"

Wasn't sure what was meant here sorry. Yes there's no real hierarchy.

@VeganAwake my champ. you realize that you are mixing the partial with the whole? the relative with the absolute? the finger with the body?

you speak as the finger. the finger has heard about the body, the 1 body which senses and knows all.

the finger IS A PART of the body, but is not the WHOLE BODY

the finger, as itself, says, "I had heard the BODY (infinite-consciousness) knows everything at once. but in my experience it does not"

of course! because it's only a finger!

the finger cannot know what happens in the foot or the 7/11 gas station in Germany

the finger is limited/partial and NOT the whole. it is a PART of the whole.

a part cannot know the whole. only the whole can.

rest assured, just as you feel an itch on yo bum, feet, head, back - it is felt and known by you, wherever on the body

likewise, infinite-consciousness is aware of all and any itches anywhere on its infinite body

Yes, in fact no thought or sense of "body" is quite the same as the last, it's pure imagination because there's no reality it's based on. A thought of it is like a photographic frame taken of something that is past, except there are no frames actually just seamless motion.

@VeganAwake I can't keep that state of mind because it's not a state of mind. In fact whenever I get hurt and really think about it, I pass out. I have no control over my state of mind. I don't have a state of mind.

The relative(partial) and absolute(whole) is an illusory duality. Therefore they can't be mixed because they were never separate to begin with... that's the dream.

What's being pointed out here can be directly verified.

What's being pointed out there is an illusory concept constructed by infinite imagination.

Go ahead and test it...

See this so-called infinite consciousness theory actually holds no water when put to the test.

For example have you ever actually experienced this all-knowing infinite consciousness state(or whatever you want to imagine it to be) during sleep or under anesthesia at the doctor's office....

So even if there was an all-knowing infinite consciousness, that can one day become aware of itself(duality) what does it matter in any way at all.

There isn't a real consequence or verifiable outcome.... they're still not a knowing of what the neighbors ate for dinner last night six blocks down.... there's not a knowing of what's being held right now in my left hand as I get ready for work....

There is only what is directly sensed by the bodily functions or imagined( intellect)...

It's sort of like saying I am the boss of a company minus the ability to actually direct anything or make any notable changes to its framework.

nothing is directing the show on the runaway train.

It's infinite and boundless but nothing is directing it. ?

My man, I love ya. In plain English, go directly experience infinity without appearance. It’ll clear all this up instantly. Truly wishing you the best. Take this any which way that serves. ??

@mandyjw ❤ those are great points.

yes when an injury and pain occurs a thought arises with it claiming it as my injury and my pain and usually exaggerating the entire situation which is neither right nor wrong... just what's happening...THIS!!
