How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

@Preety_India Yes, I understand where you are coming from.

I'm also from an underdeveloped country, Argentina, I would say we have 35-40% solid Red/Blue. So of course if you aren't able to access some Red traits yourself people are gonna walk all over you.

In terms of spiral development, get them involved in something like boxing, marital arts or Outward Bound.

Interesting.

Those are activities that would engage Red, and they have a strong component of Blue discipline, which would help him drop the unhealthy and impussive asspects and elevate him.

@integral Nice, I like how he emphatizes the importance of Red's healthy asspects in the hero's character. That's absolutely necessary.

"seems like your transitioning out of turquoise. maybe lol"

My spiritual ego would wish. LOL

Argentina is pretty good I guess.

There are lots of mountain ranges there.

The Andes.

I had a book by Nando Parrado. Miracle in the Andes.

He is an Argentinian.

After reading that book, I was fascinated with Argentina.

I don't think Argentina is that poor.

I like South America although I haven't traveled there.

I am partially Portuguese. So the south American culture fascinates me.

@Preety_India Don't take me wrong, I absolutely love the country. And most people are good people regardless of their Stage.

But the socioeconomic developement is what it is.

@Fran11  you're lucky to live in that country.

You could take a trip to the mountains nearby and meditate lol. The scenic beauty is just amazing.

Did that last summer. It's a really long trip.

Argentina is the eight largest country in the world. I live in Buenos Aires, the capital, I'm not near the most pretty places xD

You are very nice, I hope you can come over some day.

I would also absolutely love to visit India, it's spiritual tradition and vibes are unmatched.

I love this.

Especially the part where he says, it's not so much about women and men, but more about masculine and feminine.

@Fran11 hahah well the video as a whole covers Coral as he explains in it. He also gos over all the stages from beige to teal with an interesting perspective.

From what he sais, it seems to exact the kind of changes you want to see in the world requires Coral. If yellow is music theory, then Coral is composition.

Takes full responsibility for the universe.

The contained honour systems inherent in sports seem like a good fit to channel Red's drive for power and status in a relatively healthy and constructive way. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe sports were used in a highly constructive way in South Africa to help build solidarity between the two populations after the end of Apartheid (work Don Beck had a direct hand in).

The philosopher Tamler Sommers makes an interesting case for the value of contained honor systems in his book 'Why Honor Matters' (he doesn't explicitly use a Spiral Dynamics framework as part of his argument, but it maps pretty cleanly on a developmental model like SD).

@Fran11 I also think that this is where stage Red is applicable and in removing stage Red shadows.

You can go through this entire thread and you'll know what I mean.

Yes, that's a great idea. I had never thought about that before making this thread.

@Forestluv also mentioned sports.

Thanks guys.

True. I can see how young people how are born in already advanced societies can struggle with a lack of integration of the Lower Stages.

We definitely need more Pink :P

Malcolm X was the reddest of the red, to the point that other street criminals nicknamed him "Satan." What helped him move into blue was going to prison and being inspired to broaden his education by another well-spoken and educated inmate. Then he found Islam and became very religious.

Education is important. Opportunity is important. Law and Order (in the healthiest sense of that term) is important. Red needs to see the limits of itself to want to go to blue.

Interesting case study
