Can anyone recommend good serious books about chakras? I dont really know where to start and many of the books and authors I find talking about this topic look a bit too esoteric/shallow to me.

Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss. 

She connects the chakras, with the body with other spiritual truths, I really liked it.
