@iceprincess We see John's view on women in this song. A mind saturated on weed and childhood traumas. The line "Do something about it" sounds encouraging, though xD

1970s people got away with stuff like this

awful optics here and a poor comparison that is far too simplistic and offensive

Lol

Back then the N-word was in common use.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

It's just like slave owners having slaves 200 years ago...it's just how things were.  People aren't really capable of thinking outside the societal Norms of their tribe.   It's silly to attack them for cultural norms of the past really. Learn from their mistakes. I did not know about his women beating tendencies.  I think everyone has a dark side when nobody is looking. Maybe I'm projecting. :)

If I want to paint my face and dance, I do it for me, John, no one makes me. xD

This song could also be a reflection of his inner subconscious struggle with his feminine side.

What's really interesting is that it was written with Yoko, I read, so it would have been a shared struggle I guess.

@mandyjw Yes. It's also interesting how Paul Mccartney's relationship with wife Linda was so different from Lennon's, almost the opposite.
