He spent three days on the racist tree story. lol

He is good at turning the narrative in the direction he wants in his safe space, his own news. It happens that this direction is the same that big corporations and their media want, he will never speak against them, their tax cuts, or the huge benefits of medical and insurance companies while people die for not having access to doctors, but focus on the real problems of the people, racist trees. Unless Democrats elect a candidate that can disarm him in those tricks, he has good chances. Also, Republicans may not be able to feed on silly culture wars forever, or that's at least what I hope, they seem to be burning that fuel fast.

If Joe wins in 2020, it could be Trump in 2021.

And don't forget, if Trump loses, he can run again in 2024.

To be honest, I'm a bit separated from how trump supporters think now.

In 2016, I supported Trump as a meme. Being just a teen shitposting on the Internet.  I liked him for not being PC. But now it's so obvious that he isn't anti establishment at all and is the establishment.

Trump won because of memes and shitposting. I refuse to believe otherwise. Teens who would shit post kekistan and pepe. Don't get me wrong, pepe memes are still and always will be amazing. Thankfully they've been depoliticised. Kekistan is a cringe meme now though.

I don't think he has that same power now, but he doesn't need to have it. He has other avenues of energy and enthusiasm. Just normal conservatives.

Since I used to identify strongly as an atheist back as a teen, I followed Sam Harris, got dragged into the anti-SJW shit. I was in reaction to my strict Islam upbringing, and was mildly xenophobic of third world muslim countries.

What I found interesting is that all of us Sam Harris fans were pro Trump, but Sam was as anti Trump as someone could be. It was weird. It shows that Sam was being played like a fiddle by his own narratives about the evil far left, and didn't realise what he was empowering.

But he hasn't learnt since then. He's still as left brained and thick skulled as ever.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

I don't see Kamala being president. She didn't get enough interest in the primaries and dropped out real early. She will definitely try to run for president again, but I doubt she will succeed. There will be more interesting choices in 2024 and she likely won't excite enough people. But I think she's a good VP pick for Joe.

Do you think Kamala has a lot of potential for improving her level of charisma?

Tucker Carlson is intolerable even to most of the right.

Even in 4 years I don't think Ben Shapiro is a possibility based just on the fact that he's Jewish.

Maybe one of the other "intellectual darkweb" guys is a possibility.

Personally I'm looking forward to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson vs Kanye West in 2024 or something similarly ridiculous.

Leo, I am thinking seriously that he is going to do real damage and maybe stay in a coup d'etat.

He has appointed all the judges he need in the supreme court to support his lies about voter fraud.

He removed the secretary of defense because he denied to use the army against the people.

He has declared that he is not going to concede, and he said to the press that they will see a peaceful transfer of power, but not a transfer, mostly "a continuity".

Now the Top Policy Official of the pentagon has resigned, and in his place he will put Anthony Tata that he said once that Obama was Kenyan and I don't know what else.

Quote

After the White House announced his nomination this year, Tata came under fire for tweets calling Obama a “terrorist leader” and for referring to Islam as the "most oppressive violent religion I know of," among other controversial statements.

The problem is that everyone who clashes with him is resigning and he is surrounding with lackeys loyal to him in positions of power.

And that's the problem, they are in position of power and they can do real damage.

I am really afraid that he will try to do a coup d'etat and maybe he can succeed because I see the democrats like they are taking everything very lightly. IDK

Edit 1: Mike Pompeo has just said in a press conference that "It will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration"

All of your other concerns are valid, but let's get this straight.

The Supreme Court will not invalidate the 2020 election and give it to Trump. As bad as SCOTUS is , it has enough wisdom to not play Trump's games.

Larry Lessig seems to also doubt it.

I think that they are trusting to much in that everything will go the normal ways, there's nothing normal now in Trumpism. (RIP GOP)

Little people around him have faith in his leadership skills. They were milking it as long as he was in power.

That could be too, I hope that's the case.

The problem is that he has 6 of 3 judges who favor his views.

I think the democrats made a great mistake not trying to stop him of choosing that new judge. IDK how, I have to study laws hehehe...

But he doesn't mind about laws.

@Husseinisdoingfine He will muddy the election results so that it isn't clear in his follower's minds that he lost. So his followers will feel outraged even if he loses. They will precieve it as radical socialists trying to steal an election.

Laws and courts cannot kick Trump out, only the military high command can. And they will be very hesistant to get involved.

Congress cannot kick him out. And 95% of conservatives in Congress will feel that Trump won even if he loses because they just want to keep power.

It's gonna be a complete clusterfuck. Trump will take the whole country down with him.

It's amazing how accurate this was.

Biden appears to be winning the narrative at this stage. "Biden is president-elect" is simply ringing louder than "This election was a fraud". It helps Biden's case greatly that most of the media is running his narrative and most world leaders have congratulated him. Even Fox News is tiring of Trump.

Perhaps America's institutions are stronger than I originally envisioned. After all, if democracy in America falls then it would not serve to benefit those who benefit most from America's democracy, ie the rich and powerful.

Maybe there comes a point where if the system's survival is threatened (Trump undermining democracy) then the system enters into survival mode.

That would support the 2 steps forward and one step back theory. We took 2 steps forward with Obama, then 1 step backward with Trump. Trump tried to take a further step backward by undermining democracy and the system rejected it as it would be too far of a regression.

@Stovo It is actually the mainstream media which saved democracy by refusing to go along with Trump's lies and games. If mainstream media was taken over by partisan right-wing hacks, American democracy would be doomed. Which is why attacks on and conspiracy theories about the mainstream media are so harmful and devilish.

Whatever faults and biases the mainstream media has, it still plays a crucial function in presenting factual information that democracy needs to stay afloat. Media is needed to accurately report who won the election.

No matter the final outcome of this election, Trump-ism is here to stay. The amount of people who resonate with Trump will always be a huge proportion of the population. So someone like Tucker standing up for 2024 could be a reality if people can't do anything about the situation!

It seems like a huge challenge for Joe Biden, if he gets elected, to bring unity between the Republican and Democrat parties. Hopefully with his many years of service, he has the connection and ties to get things done in a projected Republican majority senate.

However in the end, the President can't really do anything to change the division. Only people can bring unity, and that requires a lot of conscious people.

Definitely.  Trumpism is great for the long term.  For the collective shadow,  spiritual development, etc. Short term it will drag you through hell.

Trump and trumpism has developed me at a ridiculous rate spiritually to where I couldn't keep up and I went over the deep end.

What's great is that no matter who the nominee is for the Republican party.... they are hilariously fucked in the future lol!

Either they will pale in comparison to Trump's antics and be so boring as they won't be able muster the same loyal base that he has...

Or they are an even wackier flavour of crazy and there is no chance in hell they win!

xD The age of Trump has changed the landscape forever that's for sure.

@Proserpina Really? Wow. However, I don't think Trump is a spiritual person at all. Could you share how Trump has helped you spiritually?

@Leo Gura I completely agree with you.

I don't know if it is a coincidence, but increased political polarisation almost perfectly correlates with the increased exposure to unregulated social media platforms. People are now capable of sharing dangerous ideologies with millions of people at the click of a button.

The social media companies seem to be waking up to this threat. Twitter placing warning banners on misleading Trump tweets was certainly a watershed moment. Still, they need to go further.

It's interesting that those on the right see social media censorship as extremely threatening to free speech and free society, but they don't see that without such censorship the very notion of free speech and free society is threatened.
