We Take Things Too Literally On This Forum.

Hey guys, I've noticed on this forum that people on here have a neurotic, almost ADHD like attachment to what others say in their posts. I've seen(and been involved in)  like literally 10 post debates about a certain interpretation of enlightenment, as if someone's interpretation of enlightenment is really going to change reality in any impacting way... 

 And the amount of posts I've seen where people have to reply back to a dialogue, just because someone took them too literally, and consequently started accusing them of not knowing what enlightenment is, being a fraud, being too literal, and hence mentally incapable of handling the big boy self inquiry stuff(usually the ones who dont do the work write this stuff).

Like seriously, us as a group would get so much more insights, and save so much more time, if we didn't have Mr. Dali Lawyer up our asses, turning our posts into incriminating evidence for "Saying something about enlightenment that doesn't fit my belief of it". 

Wouldn't we all much rather ask questions, and get answers about insights and advice, rather than trying to defend a position, that really doesn't matter that much anyway? It saves time, eliminates the need to clarify what you have said, it stops off topic and completely useless arguments about which belief is better, and reduces the amount of BS you need to read to actually get to the answer of an OP's question.

You're probably referring to Matthew  in my thread. He actually did a pretty good job from my perspective and probably helped me more than anyone else did, but he was recieved poorly because people seemed offended by him.

@electroBeam I've noticed that too. Decided to not get involved in those discussions. So yeah,really there is a subtle battle between perspectives which isn't of any help because, in fact ,all roads lead to the same destination.

I'm with you. Far too much bickering over things that are completely subjective, unknown, or unknowable, and not enough positive open minded encouragement. Granted, as far as forums go, it's still by far the most civil I've ever been involved in.

OK OK I understand u guys. you wanna open minded people but think how this forum is gonna be if everybody here is open minded.Is gonna be boring forum.Look imagine in your mind any topic you wanna discuses and everyone is open minded. I guarantee you you gonna feel something wrong a taste is missed

You asked me to evaluate your state experience for you.  I did it, I told you that emptiness is not nirvikalpa samadhi.  Emptiness is the 7th jana, NKS is the 8th. Self - Realization is neither.

You wanted to push that onto me after I told you that you are misinformed.  There is nothing personal about it, I'm pointing out the stupidity of the New Age movement, not your own jivas karma.  However, I did point to the jivas karma to make a point that it's not your fault, the jiva is the jiva, and that is that.

I think that this forum has already reached its limit. Am not saying that to upset anyone or Leo. But I feel that there is way too much focus on the word "enlightenment" or "life purpose". This stuff confuses most people. And I cringe everytime when I read something like: "Omg, I had an enlightenment experience" or whatsoever. I always look back at Jiddu Krishnamurti when he once talked about the transformation of the mind. Jiddu died 30 years ago, so his words are at least 30 years old. I look at myself and think that at this point I am surely not the transformation that he was talking about. And I am really curious whether I can do that. But for now the transformation that I experienced were baby steps. So how am I supposed to expect faster transformation from other forum members? I just can't. I see the forum as what it is. It put me in a certain position and from that point I have to walk a very lonely road where no forum needs to be by my side. That is the struggle. I came to this forum because of some inner resistence. Now that I feel better in certain aspects the only thing to do here is to leave this place or help.

The reason youre on this forum is because youre chasing something.  Information?  Attention? Trying to be a helper?  Nothing wrong with that, it's karma.  But all the information you need is laid out in the correct non dual teachings.  All you have to do is consult those teachings, contemplate them, and sooner or later you will see what's driving you to be here, and it will drop.

It's all entertainment for your mind, the seeking, the programme.  When you're ready you will drop it like a hot coal because you know it wont lead to liberation.  The irony is, the dropping of what you thought will lead you to liberation, IS liberation
