Posted August 26, 2020 The duality of "reality" vs. "night dreams" has broken down in my experience. Thus, there is no use in writing this down, just as it would be useless to write things down in a "night dream". Once the dream ends, everything in the dream vanishes. Right now, I'm just further engaging in this dream. This time though, "reality" is a lucid dream. I'm entrapped in this lucid dream. I know that I'm dreaming. Exiting the dream would mean to stop intertwining in this dream and start to look for what's real. This also implies, that I am the only one dreaming in dreamland. No one else, besides me, is dreaming right this moment. A Dreamer, seemingly within this body, seems to dream a dude, sitting in front of his computer, writing this post and further engaging in this lucid dream. This has so many more implications to what "reality" is. There is so much to be seen in another light. What the fuck?
Posted August 26, 2020 As I'm writing this, I am further engaging in this dream. I see now, how further engagement in this dream, makes it seem more real, more solid. This engagement in this dream makes one believe, that it is actually real. When I take a step back though, (which "I" have tried all along with meditation), I see know, that I'm in the middle of a dream.
Posted August 26, 2020 Sorry, I didn't want this to become a journal. But I see that I need to be careful, before jumping to conclusions. Man it is so weird to write things down in a dream..
Posted August 26, 2020 You can see then that it's more about re-evaluating life-long beliefs, opinions, views, context etc. than it is about mastering any kind of technique or chemical. And that states or levels of consciousness are still only dreamt. The key to both is the energetic component to which we have been oblivious most of our lives. That's the glue that holds it all together, that's the "structural integrity" of the non-lucid dreamstate, that's where obstacles to realization are rooted, and so that's where the real work is done. Which is also where good breathing is of great benefit.
Posted August 26, 2020 @Johnny5 Oh yes. Those terms "re-evaluating life-long beliefs, opinions, views, context" make so much more sense now. It's really funny because those terms had SUCH a different meaning before this happened. I see now how this sets a new foundation to this work, which will eventually break down too one day. This is such a mindfuck. Definitely, with good breathing, energy work is way easier. And I couldn't even start properly, because my body is still fragile from the operation. I'm extremely excited, what's still to explore, once I'm allowed to do sports and Kriya Yoga properly again. Maybe then I'll understand what you meant with the glue that holds it all together. This is funny too, because I have concepts of these words, but I don't know anything about them. You can state it directly to me, but this ain't ringing any bells at all. Just like I didn't understand "re-evaluating life-long beliefs". It first has to become experiental, before you can really work with those phrases.
Posted August 26, 2020 @EmptyVase Great taste of the difference between theoretical v.s. direct understanding. You'll get the glue thing too. I'm kinda hesitant to use that word "experiential" because in spiritual circles it often invokes the idea that you need to have special experiences or whatever. When really it's just a matter of recognition from having a first-hand frame of reference. Just like you do now. From your own experience, yes, but in an everyday ordinary way. In the same way that a comedian might do observational jokes about. Like standing in line at the groceries. Everyone who has life experience with that, knows what it's like. It's no different with this. P.S. No need to be physically fit in order to turn inward. Again everyday ordinary, it's really just a matter of being observant of your own subjective somatic state, and meeting the energy there with your attention. Certain practices and indeed psychedelics can be very helpful tools with that, as long as you understand which is subordinate to which.
Posted August 26, 2020 You are not lucid dreaming right now. The rabbit hole goes way way deeper than this. God: the title suits me well. "For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."

This is so damn spot on, because it's not a "new experience" per se, it's just seeing things from a different light. Words are really tricky. 14 minutes ago, Member said: You are not lucid dreaming right now. The rabbit hole goes way way deeper than this. Yes! "This" just shows me, that I have no clue at all. Reminds me a lot of second shrooms trip, where all of my conceptual understanding went down the drain and I didn't know shit.

Posted August 26, 2020 @Nahm If you mean by that the beginning and ending of this life/dream.. well it makes more sense now, but it's still quite a mystery
Posted August 26, 2020 I always thought that "life is a dream" was meant metaphorically, not literally. May I point out that this is pretty hilarious
