I'm a 20 year old dude who is inquiring reality, meditating/being almost everyday. Now, all my friends are interested in stuff that i am no longer interested in anymore (football, sex, dating, money, alcohol & drugs, cars etc..)

I can't really relate with most of them anymore, and don't really have "fun" when I'm hanging out with them. They just talk about those stuff which I'm just not into anymore and to be honest, i would probably guess that 95% of people my age where i am are exactly like that.

Whenever i hang out with them, they give me this "genuine" advice;

Dude, you are wasting your precious time as a young man doing things that will get you nowhere. Ignore whatever your doing and enjoy your life! You'll get old and you won't regain those youthful days again ever!

This makes me sad. Because i see how they are right in a sense.

Are you really not interested in that, or do you still wanna experiment? I mean, you are young for a certain period of time and then you stop being young and will have more responsibility etc... it's good to learn from experience about certain things. If you are a 20 year old who has never dated, maybe you should start, because if you are then interested in something like a long term relationship, it would most likely fail very quickly given that you have zero or very low past experience with relationships.

 Can i ask what your mystical experiences were like?

About their advice to stop wasting your time trying to get somewhere and start enjoying, it might come from a rather unenlightened perspective, but even that can be, and often is, a powerful teacher. Maybe your whole life is a trip, maybe every moment is a mystical state, just maybe :)

I get the sense that you are on a hunt but you have no idea what you are hunting, so the solution is simple - you think about what is it that you are hunting and write that here in this thread, thoughts are slippery but once you write them down, you can spot many biases and illusions.

@bejapuskas ok, ill try to explain

About a year ago, the fact that I Am here in REALITY seemed "Normal" to me.

after doing a little self inquiry;

Suddenly it hit "me" that I AM HERE RIGHT NOW witnessing whatever THIS IS! Sounds simple and stupid to anyone but me for some reason. Tried talking to everyone close to me, they don't seem to understand what i'm trying to say, i consciously concluded that i'm just stupid or dumb.

After that realization, i actually don't know what reality is. I don't know who i am, what or who people are. what this fan in-front of me right now REALLY is. I Conceptually i do, but looking deeply im like " what the flying fuck is that thing"

Thats what i'm trying to find out :/

I know that i am not this body, not thoughts, but am still identified to feelings to some extent.

@Mosess You are Reality, simple as that. If their interests don't interest you, then mind your own business. How can you feel sorry later if this is what you're seeking right now? Later your interests might change, nothing wrong with that. Just follow your own path or heart.

Oh, do you actually know that? :)

It's much better to admit that you don't know than to claim you know and spread nonsense on this forum haha

If you want to find out, you can try. But do you want to really? Just asking... Also, why does it make you feel dumb? Do you assume you should know what it is? Maybe you shouldn't, because you don't, and that's ok, sit with it, you aren't dumb, just honest :)

Why are you in this "truth hunt" in the first place?

This is not a valid reason to continue doing something.

Is your spiritual seeking bringing you any benefits?

one day this will all be memories

Ask yourself this question: “Why am I trying so hard to fit in?”

On this journey, friends are a luxury.  I’m 28 and this year I got so deep into spirituality (had my kundalini and heart center awakening) and cut all my friends out of my life. Have not made a single friend since.  I also cut off this terrible narcissist and cut off another narcissistic woman.  Not to mention I quit smoking weed and drinking.

As you progress you realize that there is no intrinsic value in pleasure.  This will make you not crave to party and not want to chase women (if you want to go there).
