How do I go from Lower Self to Higher Self?

Hey guys,

How do I go from my lower self (of the ego, the afraid self) to my higher self which knows inner peace and connection? I was always at my higher self until college started and life started to get a little messy. I'm a sensitive person and sometimes college life can be uncomfortable and chaotic. I was brought down to my lower self as the year went on and I started to internalize some social fears. Now it's summer and although life is fine, I feel an inner churning sensation as if some kind of subtle suffering. I find the need the always distract myself which is definitely a symptom of being in the ego. How can I transcend the "fear" and reach a more enlightened state of mind independent of what's happening in the external environment?

  @LearningPodo Some say purifying the emotional center or the lower chakras. That's a tall order.

Integration of awkward aspects, processing any shame, shadow work. Yeah, fun stuff like that. You can be your own Teacher and decide what to work on that would make you a more relaxed person. Being radically honest with yourself, decide what you need to work on maybe to become more confident and authentic by undoing possibly some of your childhood - adolescence conditioning. Ideas and ways of thinking that cause you any conflict within yourself.

Watching Leo's videos and maybe taking his life purpose Course. Having found Actualized.org is a good synchronicity!

It’s a complicated topic which can be examined through a variety of lenses and perspectives. However one quick question I like to ask myself which is really effective and practical is this, “If I had more discipline, what action would I be taking right now?” I find this cuts straight to the heart of what my “higher self” would “want.”

This doesnt really help with transforming ones resting consciousness per-say, increasing your vibrational state into higher vibrational emotions, but it does allow for insight and practical action you can begin working towards.

@Zigzag Idiot Ah yea, I've been saving a lot of those "meditation music for bla bla bla" videos on youtube to listen to when I go to sleep. Hopefully they can help balance chakras and release fear and other messy emotions stuck inside me. I'm not sure how much they would actually work though.

 

@Consilience Right! I've been doing that as well. For me, I like to look back on songs I used to listen to / pictures that remind me of a time I was at my higher self. I would think to myself, what would I be doing if I was at that time?
