Can't work when bored

By work I mean long, boring stuff like research or organizing things. How to fix this?

Why do you need to do that? It sounds draining for your personality.

Organise and research things you're interested in, otherwise you're going against your natural inclinations.

If the world forces you to go against your natural inclinations, I'm sorry to hear it.

For now just be aware that this is one of your weaknesses. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.

What are you strong in?

I have contemplated a lot about this and came to this conclusion:

Much of it is a matter of low self-esteem, it leads to an inability to cope with frustration which is inherent to any learning process. The low self-esteem person avoids any evidence that she isn't as competent as she previously thought, she try as hard as possible to maintain this facade of confidence. Truly effective people have the ability to plow through any challenge because they don't waste energy getting frustrated, they figure out how to even like this process.

@Recursoinominado

If there is too much frustration in the learning process, chances are you're learning the wrong sort of thing or in the wrong way.

Some level of frustration is normal, but too much signals a shadow connection to the activity, which is something you should be able to handle when you need to, but shouldn't have to put up with too frequently.

Reading yourself and whether you are working well with an activity can help you determine if study, work etc is a good fit for you, so don't feel that you need to force the fit unless there are other constraints making it necessary.

Try walking and working or using a stress ball while working.

@Artsu Nah, dude, the nature of learning requires you to be going beyond your limits, stretching your skills, facing plateaus.

If you want to build a business, for instance, you can even be a master of the subject your business is about but you will have to learn several other skills and each of them will be a journey of patience and persistence. Most people fail because they can't handle the drudgery that comes with that. Successful people approach their business with a zen-like attitude, one step of a time, flowing with it, not letting it get under your skin, moment after moment, day after day, year after year. It is a puzzle-solving attitude, some people figure out a way of liking it and most don't.

Currently, i am trying to become a writer and, in my research, most, if not all, professional writers deal with this frustration that manifests itself in the form of resistance. They all report having to create solid habits and routines to breakthrough resistance because it is in the nature of this creative process to be frustrating.

You mustered up the courage to write, now you have to read it, analyze it and criticize it , this is brutal, it is like facing your own incompetency at front. Most people don't have sufficient self-esteem to face it without taking a personal blow, making about themselves and about their own value as a person. Successful people do it without flinching, in a systematic and relentless way.

@Megan Alecia either you are tired and need rest or you don't have enough will power. Some time ago I was so lazy that I had tough times to even check if I locked the door before I was going to sleep, I felt like aghhhhhh inside always. By growing my willpower things became easy.

I usually reduce to the min, or cut out the things that are stimulating me, so that boring stuff becomes normal. Its a dopamine fast, you can find a lot of info on you-tube :)

Imagine 10 thousand years ago when people did not have phones, movies, games, porn, podcasts, salt, all sorts of food, coffee and so on.

I bet they took a thing like "walking 60 miles", or "scraping hides all day" as a normal/would do thing, I do not think that they had to drag themselves to do these difficult and boring things.

My advice is, do not try to enforce will, or try to build discipline if your environment is not in order. Just don't do it.
If your environment is handled well, discipline will fall into place naturally, and using will, will become effortless.

Here is some inspiration from a section of my commonplace book.

What @Recursoinominado  said is spot on imo. I would also make a dreamboard. When you see all that you are wanting in life, the biggest dream you can dream In front of you, the feeling, sentiment and attitude toward the task at hand changes. It is seen more as the whole of your life dream, as contributing to your vision, and is much more enjoyable & purposeful.

Learning to love boring, frustrating, irritating, mundane tasks is what separates the winners from the losers.

Convince your mind that you are enjoying it. Simply sit down to meditate at least 5 minutes visualizing how much joy is in that work.

What on earth is a winner to make that statement true?
