9 posts in this topic

The title says it all. So,yeah I know what we should try new things in order to find our passion,but..how do we know when we found it?Are there specific sings that occur when you truly you found your passion? How deep should we dig into a specific subject so we know it's the "chosen one"?Is there a specific plan that I need to follow in order to find it?

Have you found your passion? If yes, please tell me the story of how you accomplished your search. What did you do?

Also,it would be nice if every question I've asked above will receive answer:).

@Ryan_047 Hi Ryan, last year I really into the deepest of a depression. I had a strings of different jobs that seemingly have no connection. Every time after 3 years I had enough and quit. Next job. Something was missing every time. I started personal development 2 years ago and started the life purpose course a year ago. Trough the assessments and inner reflections, I really got to know myself. I had a lot of aha (eureka) moments. Some tests are so damn accurate that I shouted out from happiness "Fathermockers! that is a description of me, better than I could write it myself!"

You will know when it is your passion when you feel fire burning inside, when you picture yourself doing it without getting money. Do the Life Purpose Course on Actualized.org! All of your questions will be answered in the course. In hindsight, I'd pay USD 10,000.- if I had it. If not, I would still be complaining my ass off. I am writing an autobiography for later just to remind me how I got there. Too long to post here...

@Ryan_047 Hmmm. that is a pitty. I did write my journey down. I haven't translated it into English yet. When I do I'd be happy to send it to you. My journey to find my passion was a lot of digging in the past, finding the patterns. I suggest you write your autobiography like I did. And let others wirte how they see you. Chronological write what your life was in terms of school, parents, friends, hobbies, sports, jobs. Then you will see a pattern emerge. I also recommend you start reading books. Buy the Recommended Book list of Actualized.org.

Things do not happen overnight. Things will just start clicking. You will have your aha moments. Off course!! moments.

@Ryan_047 It sort of like love.. when you know.. you just know. However, we all have to go through trial and error as sometimes our passions and purposes changes throughout our lives.

For me it took me till my late 20's to know what I really wanted to do with my life. I did a lot of personal development work for years on myself and I've even mentored and counselled other people and although I really enjoy this, something else was missing.

I met a few life coaches who changed my life and the way I think about things and how I wanted to live my life. I wanted to be as happy, content and successful as them. These people I met just had this drive for life, had this passion in their eyes when it came to coaching other people and they have this amazing energy that makes you drawn to them, I felt like I didn't even know these type of people existed and there were so many of them.

So I decided to become a life coach myself and my life has changed incredibly, the energy, the passion - its contagious and when I got my first client and every client after that and I've seen how hard some people work to make big changes in their life - it is the most rewarding thing on earth knowing you have made a difference to someone else's life and seeing them progress. For me, this is how I knew what I was put on this earth to do and I have never looked back.

I agree with Mia that passion finds you, but also looking at your life and seeing the patterns will help. I always liked writing and sharing stories with people, I have kept a journal since I learned how to write, and literature lessons were my favorite at school. I really have a passion for writing. And crafts, oh man, I have tried knitting, crocheting, felt, beads, sewing, paper, calligraphy... It is a way for me to express myself. Not that I will earn money for them (at least not soon), but they keep my soul alive.

If you feel like "nothing interests me" (I felt like that in high school) then you can check out Pinterest. There is basically everything for every interest, and maybe you will find out you have lots of interests but haven't named them before.

@MIA.RIVEL @Pelin Well, sounds logic that the passion should find me...But I fear that I will reach the age of 30 with a stupid job waiting for my passion to occur.@Eelco1981 told me to find my character strengths through a test..And I did that.I can write my autobiography too.But...how this stuff are going to help me?And what pattern really means in this context?

@Ryan_047 I was 29 when I finally found my life purpose. I wish I found it sooner but sometimes it takes a while to find "the one".

When I left high school, I wanted to be a Fashion designer and I studied that and Graphic design. Did that for a few years, I loved it but I didn't like the people in the industry that I was surrounded by so I decided to a Law degree (6years it took me to get this degree) and I have worked for lawyers for a couple of years thinking I was going to be a lawyer one day because it paid really well but I wasn't truely happy.

At 29 I started doing volunteer work and I fell in love with helping others, it gave me enjoyment and satisfaction that I haven't got from any other job before and that's when I knew, I wanted to do help others for the rest of my life. I love being a life coach.
