What if very few rules are necessary to create an intricate reality

2 posts in this topic

I came across this brief experiment. It shows how with very few rules a beautiful system can be created.

The idea of creating rules approximating survival constraints added a layer of beauty to the whole thing.

If there are too many of a kind they die, if there are too few of a kind they die, if there is the right amount, life goes on.

Simple, elegant and mesmerizing. I saw cities, blood flow, data transfer, chemical reactions, astronomical events in that tiny blocky simulator.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did !

if Anyone has examples of simple rules creating interesting patterns type Mandelbrot etc, I would love to find out about them ??
