How do you accept that this is not your life?

19 posts in this topic

That´s basically it.

This is not "your life". This is a dream of consciousness and "your life" is just thoughts forming the Ego therefore forming the illusion of "somebody" being Alive inside the body.

So how do you accept, as the ego, that you do not exist? Its a bitter pill. (I am not saying it´s Bad, I´m saying it seems a pill tough to swallow)

@Javfly33 Who's there to accept anything?

Awakening won't make sense to the mind.

You need to look for yourself, it can't be something just intellectually understood it has to be seen there...

Explore this SENSE of self very-very thoroughly. Not by thinking about it, but by FEELING it.
Keep the focus of attention on the sense of self and inquire:

Does the sense of self have a location?

Does the sense of self have a shape or a size?

Does the sense of self say or communicate anything?

If the answer is yes, how does the sense do this exactly?

Does the sense of self have any characteristics or attributes?

What is the sense of self ‘made of’? An image? Sound? Taste? Smell? Sensation? Thought Arising? If not, where is any Direct or Actual Experience of some sense of self?

@Javfly33

How do you accept that this is not your life?

By realizing that there is no 'you'

There’s no ego. It’s a ‘bitter pill’ like a unicorn is a ‘bitter pill’. Same for “life”.

@ajasatya  Nobody, of course. Thank God I´m just an illusion

@VeganAwake It doesn´t exist, but thoughts re-create the illusion. So even if Awakenings happen, if thoughts of identity re-appear that are believed in, then "the sense of self" re-appear (even if doesn´t exist, they are just thoughts I totally agree with you)

As far as I understand: you have to experience no self.

Just telling yourself to accept it is like telling someone to accept Jupiter has 20 moons while being here on earth. It is just data with no experience.

This is why I'm saying you need to look and see through the illusion clearly for yourself.

If thoughts about Santa Claus being real arise here, I don't start actually believing in Santa Claus again.

There's a game: the game of misidentification and experience.

And it's not a game in the sense that it's unimportant. It's the dance of God itself. Oneness apparently becoming not-Oneness. One perceiving itself as not-One. It requires ultimate power.

Awakening does not entail detrimental thoughts about the illusion of duality. It's very much the opposite.

I am me. I am a real soul, not illusory, and so are you.

Yes we're all confused about a lot, but existence as an individual is real.

Of course that seems to go against the current on this forum. I am all for actualisation and the expansion of consciousness, but some of the ideas here seem delusional and either destructive or pointless.

It's all YOU baby.

The real question is, how do you accept anything less than Infinity?

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

That´s actually a good point. I guess the illusion hasn´t totally "seen through" yet @VeganAwake

It helps to imagine that you have friends in high places. They are essentially just you of course but, you do. You are both the character in the mind of the author and also the author. The character exists within imagination and does not actually exist. This has been the case all along. So letting go of the character really feels like taping into greater guidance and intuition about how this whole story is unfolding. You've actually lost something, not gained it but it feels more like gain.

This kind of honesty and humility creates an atmosphere more conducive for this recognition ❤

Remember what's being discussed here is already the case, it's not something that isn't already true. It's already whole complete and perfect....

It's just whether it's recognized or not, hence the saying it's a lifting of the Veil.

You see how hilarious that is?   It's like asking how can Santa accept that he doesn't exist?Ofcourse he can't because he can't do anything because it's not him who does stuff in the first place.

@Javfly33 also I think it's helpful to create a duality between the true self and the false self.. Saying that "you" don't exist and leaving it at that is really not the whole story.. You obviously do exist even tho you don't!

It's just that the self cannot be found as a product of any external or internal phenomenon.. It's always in the background.. The ghost is not inside the machine.. The machine is inside the ghost. And to be more accurate it's all just the ghost.
