Tolle's Inner Body

so I'm reading Power of Now,
and I found this concept of Inner Body hard to relate,

Quote

"CONNECTING WITH THE INNER BODY
Please try it now. You may find it helpful to close your eyes for this practice.
Later on, when “being in the body” has become natural and easy, this will no
longer be necessary. Direct your attention into the body. Feel it from within.
Is it alive? Is there life in your hands, arms, legs, and feet — in your
abdomen, your chest? Can you feel the subtle energy field that pervades the
entire body and gives vibrant life to every organ and every cell? Can you feel
it simultaneously in all parts of the body as a single field of energy? Keep
focusing on the feeling of your inner body for a few moments. Do not start to
think about it. Feel it. The more attention you give it, the clearer and stronger
this feeling will become. It will feel as if every cell is becoming more alive,
and if you have a strong visual sense, you may get an image of your body
becoming luminous. Although such an image can help you temporarily, pay
more attention to the feeling than to any image that may arise. An image, no
matter how beautiful or powerful, is already defined in form, so there is less
scope for penetrating more deeply."

yes I can put my attention on some part of the body - but that doesn't feel alive to me - it's just is for me - i don't how it's like to not be alive to be honest
and the energy field left me blank - what ???

anyone can help to grasp it ?

When I do this practice I can feel a heightened energy surrounding the body part I"m focusing on, but I'm also highly tuned to my body through exercise, so that might play into the experience.

Most people are numb to their physical form.

That's very understandable that you don't feel the aliveness. It takes time and practice. We are typically not used to focus our attention inside and are mostly focused outside. If you want to feel the aliveness you need to increase your sensitivity by practicing.

This is why there is 10-day silent Vipassana retreats. By day 8 or 9 you will surely have started to experience the aliveness all over your body, if not sooner. Or you could try to start meditating for 10-60 minutes every day, and give it a few months. :)

Everything IS LOVE, everything is music... :x

Try this. I use this method to relax and let go.

Sit in a chair and let your body become relaxed, focus your attention on breathing for a while, then try to feel your heartbeats without touching your chest, once you have strong sense of your heart beating, focus on your pulse in your left hand without touching your hand, then move toward head.

Next try to focus on your breathing and heartbeat at once and try to smooth them out into one single movement.

Now, feel your whole Being moving through your entire body. It's powerful. I haven't recommended this to anybody till now. Give it a shot.

Start with the simple things.

Dont eat any breakfast, you'll feel hungry. Focus on that feeling, your stomach is part of your inner body.

Block your nose and mouth, hold your breath until it gets uncomfortable. That feeling is part of your inner body, around the chest area.
