If everything is perfect as it is what's the point of doing anything?

@tatsumaru You're asking that question with an internal assumption and you don't even know it!

You're subconsciously implying to yourself that the point of doing things is to reach perfection, and the alternative points are less desirable.

The problem is the perfection your mind is projecting out in the world and the perfection of the way things are couldn't be more two opposite things.

One is utterly selfish and the other is completely selfless and indifferent.

Reflect on this truth, seriously.

Of course suffering seems meaningless to you while you are experiencing it; otherwise it would not be suffering. The irony is that you will recognize the purpose of suffering only once you have transcended it - which I think is absolutely doable if you just keep at it and don't allow yourself to become completely discouraged along the way.

@Member  Most people are not young, maybe about half of them are. I see you are very eager to help, but please, save yourself the time and energy wasted on thinking about and trying to fix people who don't want to change. Change must happen from within, you cannot change someone by talking a certain way. It's much easier to stick to the people who ask for help themselves, then you aren't fighting for change, but cooperating.

I am struggling with this notion. If one achieves the ultimate level of Self-Love and recognizes that everything is already perfect as it is then why bother even waking up from your bed in the morning? What's the point of consciousness if nothing needs to be changed at all?

Though the illusion of the finite mind is dispelled & our true nature of happiness is fully realized - the maya of perception plays on. Where it was once believed you ‘wake up in the morning’, there is the knowing you do not know ‘sleep’, nor ‘awake’, nor any other ‘states’.  They are only vibrational, as you are ‘sleeping’ and ‘dreaming’ only by the appearance of yourself, as a dream made of yourself. This challenging physical place of a past, of a world of evolution, suffering & survival, reveals itself as yourself, and thus is a fantasy, a fairytale, a play scape of the ‘real’ - a dream of you.

exactly what is the point of doing anything

that's our goal with the meditation practice: do nothing, just flow

you cant do nothing right now because you are attach to the thoughts, that's why we need mental exercise (meditation)

Upon my word - the more I hear you talk about this place of pure Being, the weirder it sounds to me, lol. Though I cannot deny that it also sounds pretty fascinating... perhaps a little one-to-one chat with you could clear up some of this deliciously tantalizing confusion?

I might PM you one of these days, if that is okay for you. ;)

There's no point at all... it's perfectly pointless for No One ❤

Therein lies the freedom ?

But don't you already know everything?

If not, why do you want to know that?

@tatsumaru   I'm really sorry to hear you've been through and are dealing with so much.  I went through a phase just like that for about 15 years as well, existential crisis, kundalini awakenings that brought up trauma after trauma, a constant increase of negative chatter in the mind.  I wanted it to end, and I got a point where it felt and seemed better if it would just end.  It was crushing, a tremendous let down on the whole process of life that I was hoping to find when I originally set out to find Truth/God/Enlightenment, but then for reasons that can't briefly be summarized all that changed and disappeared, just like it had never happened.

If you want someone to talk to, feel free to PM me.  The one thing I can say is sometimes we just have to suffer, and really just accept it is what it is and that theres always someone who has it worse, and the best we can do is keep a positive attitude, since thats what we live with moment to moment, and to leave open the possibility that things can and do change (closing down to the idea that things will never change and its just going to be that way forever is going to likely keep it that way), and do our best to be positive despite the troubles (doesn't mean we deny the pain we are going through or others).

This is great, practical advice. As for why we need to suffer.. that question is beyond the "puppets" pay grade. And there are as many answers as there are religions (including science), all which require a foundation in faith once the questions dig too deep.
