"CIA Gateway process"

My friend and I have come across a 'declassified' CIA document known as the 'Gateway process'.

It mentions things like hypnosis, meditation, consciousness, and absolute infinity, however it seems rather quantified / materialistic. 

Still, I am extremely confused as to why the Central Intelligence Agency would be researching such things. 

If anyone would be willing to give it a read, or if you know anything about this 'gateway process', feel free to reply!

The interesting thing about the human race is that they are actually capable of being open minded to, and performing extremely radical things so long as it suits their agenda. 

Tribesmen can do amazing things with their consciousness. Lots of rationalists have strong meditative ability because they think its gonna make them a more productive, and effective leader.

@Leo Gura Back then they did not know what to do with it. But that was 50 years ago. Dont want to know what this underground research with psychedelica will produce / has already produced in terms of mind altering technology and paranormal abilities.

Lol, they might have no idea but those recruited by them definitely know much more than we can imagine.
