The Real I and the Ego

10 posts in this topic

Thanks to Leo, I was able to get a glimpse of the real I. I'm still at the very beginning of the journey and so I was wondering if you should somehow find a balance between the real I and the ego? Since at the end, the ego is calling the final moves (still wondering who is controlling the ego...)

The real I is just pure awareness, no attributes, it's just merely there, do you at some point merch the real I and the ego together so they can work together? Is that what non duality is implying?

Thank you.

The ego is simply identification with certain thoughts and feelings in the body. When you no longer identify with those it no longer is "calling the final moves" and that energy movement starts to fade away.

lol, it's amazing to start getting glimpses into the real I :D

I have another question though. Since the real I is just pure awareness and doesn't have any features, this means that you are actually free to choose whatever life you want because you have always been whole. But can pure awareness make choices? If not then who is making the decisions?

The same "it" in "it's raining."

so, we need to be able to distinguish between the ego's desire and the real I desires to have a fulfilling life?

Thank you for this. Just watched the video.

The thing is...the true self kind of still implies that there is a self whereas in my self inquiry, I realized that the real I is actually nothing? Just awareness. So again, how can the real you have any desires?

You're welcome and that's a great Insight... spot on ?

It kind of depends on what you mean... the body can have conditioned habits and addictions to for example caffeine nicotine sex alcohol drugs food.

You discovered there is no 'I' so you're asking if nothing has desires...no nothing does not, it just is or isn't. ?
