What do people mean when they talk about reincarnation?

I've heard from different sources things like, "I had 634 reincarnations" or "this specific person is a reincarnation of me". My way of thinking was always that "I AM" every soul/incarnation there is. I'm a bit confused and was hoping you guys could help me get some clarity.

this, that's all, "anything else" is illusory concepts: ego, soul, reincarnation... ?

Put in quotes since there is nothing else tbh ?

I think it’s just a state of confusion. I’ve no doubt it’s possible in altered states to tap into other lives, past ones future ones. But only because you have been, will be, are all of them. Every single last one of them down to the finest detail. I think confusion arises from these people tapping into 1 in particular, then/or 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on to however many they become aware of in this past life regression field that people do by altering their state. But not being conscious that they’re actually God, and all lives, they interpret it as they have only experienced a particular number of lives however many they come across. I think this creates all sorts of belief systems too, beliefs that will stem from this one particular belief of past lives. This is just my own particular angle on what might be going on here
