What is the difference between MORAL & ETHICS?

4 posts in this topic

Form my point of view,

My MORAL: Killing people is a bad thing.

My ETHICS: But, if a person killed 100 innocent peoples then killing that person is a good thing.

Is it a valid point to distinct between moral and ethics?

@Kinjal Here is what I found on google

While they're closely related concepts, morals refer mainly to guiding principles, and ethics refer to specific rules and actions, or behaviors. A moral precept is an idea or opinion that's driven by a desire to be good. An ethical code is a set of rules that defines allowable actions or correct behavior.

But it seems to me their definitions are the same, or almost the same

Describe a thought.

mmhhmm. then I would say that moral and ethics are the set of rules which is created by us and I think that self actualization is much more important than know some moral and ethics to make a simple life.

@Kinjal  It's spelt 'moral'. Morale is a different thing.

Morals and Ethics appear to be inter-changeable. But I think their relationship is akin to that of intuition vs logic.

Where morals are more intuitive guidelines on how to live life whereas Ethics are more based on direct thought.
