taking ayahuasca alone?

What's the problem taking ayahuasca alone if you already have experience with psychedelics?

Because its Ayahuasca. Not LSD. Not DMT. Not Shrooms. Ayahuasca.

You will be tripping hard for hours. Likely not knowing who or where you are. You will scream, laugh, and cry at all noise levels. You will certainly puke, and you might poop your pants. What if you try and leave your house? What if something goes wrong mentally or physically? It's just not a good idea. Not unless you have experience and know exactly how much to drink to stay somewhat sane.

@ajasatya 15+ ayahuasca experiences

dozens of other trips

I've taken mushrooms and LSD at large doses alone many times

@Chakra Lion I don't understand this logic. I've had high dose acid and mushrooms that were much more scary than ayahuasca experiences.

@herghly i trip 15 hours non stop with consuming 10 gr shrooms. If you are ready to die mentally (ego) completely, you can do it. And homeostasis might come back as a different person. You will have to get used to it.

@James123 I don't understand your comment. It is not about ayahuasca

It means you will realize you were never born.

On a purely practical level, it's not really that much different from dosing yourself with shrooms, except from the frequent bowel movements.

You have enough experience to guide yourself (unless you resonate with needing a shaman as a facilitator and a community to be tripping with).

I would mostly be concerned about proper preparation and dosage.

How have your other trips gone? Have you needed someone to help you or keep you from doing anything dangerous while tripping? if not I think you will be fine. Of course do it in a place you feel safe in and is safe. Have a bucket of course and the only thing I'd be a bit worried about is having to get up to use the bathroom, don't wanna fall or knock over a candle. May want to just wear a diaper xD:$ I've never had the runs on Aya but some people get it apparently.

i have some experience because i live in Brazil and it is legal to do rituals with ayahuasca but i have to say that this medicine has some horrific power that i still didn't see with other psychedelics i have taken.

Ayahuasca has this power to show you the reality in this raw brutality (i guess this is love also). I had some bad trips that i am grateful to no had it alone.

But, at the same time, in those difficult trips i wish i have the freedom to do what i was being led to do and i couldn't due to this happening in a religious setting with strict rules.

I know some people that have used it alone or with some friends and it was fine.

I guess, in the end, the suggestions are the same: experiment with lower dosages first, in a safe environment etc.

No different than any other psychedelic.

Salvia you should not take alone. Everything else is manageable at reasonable doses.

If you seriously overdose on any psychedelic it can get dangerous alone. Which is why you must dose extra gradually alone. With gradual dosing you will always be okay.

It is less relevant how much experience one has with psychedelics in terms of the number of trips taken; what is more important is the breadth of experiences gained, particularly having had some difficult and challenging forays because if one were to have their first "bad" trip on their own, especially when thought-looping develops and runs autonomously, no amount of good encounters will necessarily equip you to address such an experience.

Assuming one has had such an encounter or two, oral DMT is essentially little different to psilocybin but the nature of ayahuasca adds in the effects of harmine/harmaline/tetrahydroharmine which are psychoactive in their own right, over and above rendering the DMT orally active.

@herghly You can certainly overdose on it, but whether you'll die or not is a different question.

@herghly you cant :) but duality wont be exist, so you cant overdose but at the same time you cant come back. You will never die, but maybe we wont come back :)
