Will war come to my city?

6 posts in this topic

Right now I'm in New Hope, MN 15 minutes from the cities. I've never felt more sick or terrified for what's coming next. With the National Guard being sent in with an air of what seems like violent intent in an already stressful situation, I'm concerned that we're just a fart in the wind away from a full-blown racially motivated war.

Minnesota is not the progressive state people see on the outside. There are millions of folks from rural areas who have been eager for the "race war" to start for years. I'm aware of what it would take to start a war, but I'm too afraid to say it out of fear of manifesting it.

What's going to happen to my city? What can I do to help people right now? I realize I'm stuck in survival right now, but that's partly by choice. Thoughts on this are appreciated.

Historically looking back on past similar events like the LA riots, king assassination, etc... these events usually last 6-7 days max and have never led to a civil war in the past. So the chances that a civil war will occur this time seems quite small.

I lived through the 2011 England riots and I know that in the moment it can feel like society is collapsing, or like the violence is going to spread across the whole state or country. But chances of that are probably lower than you think.

Best thing you can do in my opinion is just stay safe at home, don't go outside after sunset. People are in a frenzy and not behaving rationally, there isn't much you can do to help. It just has to burn itself out.

As long as you don't live downtown above a shop or something, chances that residential areas are going to get looted or set on fire is low.

I wonder what it's gonna take to really break people. I mean riots and protests where some people get arrested and hurt are one thing, but what's next?

It's been about a decade of these kinds of things propped up and exploding from social media. If some kind of major police reform doesn't happen soon except police stations and cars to be arson-ed or blown up......

Yea I'd just try and stay home with your family for a few days as it blows over. Not like there is a lack of practice from recent times lol!

These are your own fears creeping up. The police is for your safety. Whoever first goes violent definitely loose moral ground. So I don't think this will go big without back support of influential politicians at local level. So your survival fears are logically invalid, no one wants to lose the election.

How is it going to be a race war with all these white protesters?

Anyway set up you plan B, a plan to temporarily leave your location if necessary.  Have two shirts.  One BLM or the like.  This use if needed to help you leave but can be an option based on the circumstances.  I predict next week this is going to tone down, the officer in question has been charged
