the world as a state of consciousness

I'm starting to sense that the world is a state of consciousness. If you believe that we are all one or have experienced nirvana, why would we choose to have the world end in war and destruction?  It seems bizarre that a country would launch a missile at another. Would you shoot yourself in the foot?

You might, if you saw your foot as a separate entity that is somehow a threat to your survival.  Which, hey, sometimes your own foot can be a threat to your survival.
