@Space Coyote Yeah, but you forget that people who whine about freedom really just mean their personal ability to have life go their way regardless of that means for others.

So your logic does not compute for them because it doesn't help them be selfish.

As humanity transcend into the age of information "left" and "right" will become less relevent.

Exactly Leo.  All the people screaming about "muh freedom" are less concerned about how their "free speech" causes harm in the world, particularly towards those without the ability to fight back.

The free speech warriors tend to be the most privileged class of people who are unable to see the bigger picture, and real suffering and problems going on in the world.

No. It's not a childish notion.

People should love their rights when it comes to freedom of speech.

Why do you think that people should love their rights?

Or maybe running YT, where millions of vidoes are uploaded every day, is a massively complex affair?

And maybe YT management actually has a sense of responsibility not to allow their platform to turn into 4chan?

Could be that.

and how do you explain that you are deleting normal non offensive comments that you did not like on your own videos?  i read a comment on your "opnemindedness" last video and after few days this comments was gone,  i regret the money i have paid for your course, honestly, i thought you are tiny bit better that those false teachers out there that are only after money and fame, but you only talk , your actions show none of the enlightenment you say you have .. it is sad i have been following you for good 5 years but now i see that its time to walk away .

I delete very few comments which are vulgar, racist, spread conspiracy theories, trolling, or spammy.

There are many other reasons a comment might disappear: technical errors, YT's automatic spam filters, and the user himself can delete their own comment.

Be careful what you assume.

Seems like an overreaction for a few deleted comments. What was this deleted comment about anyway?

The thing is who are you to decide whether a view of the world is conspiracy theory or not? You think you have enough data and clarity on the world to dismiss a view as conspiracy theory to the point of banning it?

My channel, my business, my leadership, my decision.

If you want to call all the shots, go become a leader and start your own business/organization.

I don't let my platform be used for the spread of what I consider to be misinformation, ignorance, and devilry. If you don't like my leadership, go lead yourself and do whatever you want.

Just be careful that you don't lead yourself and others off a cliff. With leadership comes great responsibility.

Youtube is not the government, youtube is a private platform.

Yes, you could say that - technically youtube can do whatever it likes. The question is, if an organisation gets so large, such as youtube, google, twitter, etc., does its censorship need to be regulated by an unbiased third party? After all, it seems youtube has become the new TV now for a lot of people, so it is therefore likely to have power over people's perceptions.

Then again, is there even such thing as an unbiased third party? Anyone who censors something will have motivation for doing so, be that 'good' or 'bad,' (and of course judging whether or not a decision is 'good' or 'bad' is motivated by the person holding the judgement). By censoring what youtube are or are not allowed to censor based on ideals of free speech or whatever, you're essentially taking the problem back a level. For example, who censors the censor who is censoring youtube? It just becomes a paradoxical chain with no resolution.

Therefore the decision on whether to allow or ban a video has to lie with one person or organisation. And in this case, I agree with you, Space Coyote, it should probably be youtube's decision because it's their private platform. And as Leo just mentioned, leadership comes with great responsibility, and youtube has a great responsibility in today's media world. With all the God-knows-how-many videos uploaded every day, I certainly don't envy the careful balancing act youtube management have of sifting through each one, censoring the potentially harmful videos and allowing the videos which have a right to be there because of free speech.

If you're going to be truly free, shouldn't youtube just allow every single video that gets uploaded? No, that would be a disaster! Like the video Leo shared earlier of the girl who got coronavirus after believing the narrative that it's not harmful when in truth it is, it's definitely possible for the spread of certain information to have a harmful effect on people's behaviour. Meanwhile, you have to maintain free speech as well, which is what I mean by it being a careful balancing act for the censors. Interestingly, I don't think youtube used to have such heavy censorship in its earlier days, but that was probably before it reached the popularity it enjoys today.

If you want Youtube to stand for truth your are not asking it to be free ,freedom includes the right to ignore the truth, your asking it to be wise.*

I agree with you there - wisdom is not the same as freedom, and is, to me, more valuable than freedom. In fact, counter-intuitively feeling free doesn't come with having freedom, but having self-discipline, which itself stems from wisdom.

Here's what I suggest: There's no reason why people should love anything. People love things regardless of the moral obligation to do so.

As for your concerns about youtube's censorship, in the end, it doesn't matter. Even if youtube became some devilish propaganda machine, it's your responsibility, and the responsibility of every youtube viewer to determine for themselves what is true and false. If you allow youtube, or any media for that matter to shape your perceptions, then you're responsible for the behaviour that results from those perceptions. It's called critical thinking. The issue not with the information coming from the media, which may well be full of lies anyway; it's with whether or not you are lazy enough to believe what youtube and the media tell you, or whether you are open-minded enough to entertain a truth claim, and then test it in your own direct experience to see if it holds mustard.

At first, when I started this topic, I emphasized the importance of watching this video. If you didn't see the video, watch it NOW. It's important.

On the other hand, YouTube is no longer a platform where you can express yourself freely. Many conservative videos are taken down by YouTube because they are considered to be "hate speech".

If you talk about illegal aliens, that's considered "hate speech". If you are in favor of closed borders, that's also "hate speech".

Freedom of speech should be mandated on YouTube as it applies to every citizen of the United States. Why are companies exempted from the 1st amendment? We should enforce the 1st amendment to any socializing platform in America. That's the best solution.

@Tetcher You're missing the point. Whether some conspiracy theory is true or not does not matter. It's still fear-based and is usually just straight up wrong such as flat-Earth. This platform is meant for one thing only; spiritual growth. Theories about the government or whatever are just distractions from this work. There are plenty of other platforms such as reddit to talk about those subjects.

So YouTube-a private company- should be forced to allow such videos as beastialety, porn, torturing videos, people promoting racial beatings, etc?  Or do you have limits?  Maybe they have limits that are just slightly different than yours.

No. They shouldn't be forced to allow bestiality, porn, torturing videos, people promoting racial beatings, etc. - they should be forced to allow free expression in the context of speaking freely, even if it's considered to be "hate speech".

I just stumbled upon this tweet: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/4821352/fd00be0130c3226bca12fa351f235da5

His account: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/4821369/8aabceed2b9e5c4735cb4e364b07429d

It is scary!!

It's unbelievable what YouTube does. They don't allow free expression on their platform. Plain and simple.

This subject is about expressing yourself freely on social media.  We all know that examples of porn or terrorism are not suitable for the YouTube platform. That's why we shouldn't bother talking about those things.

Where would you draw the line though? Lets say you have your own video platform and someone, maybe a Doctor, posts a video that you can catch AIDS if you have a dog in the house, this has been disproven repeatedly by 99% of doctors but the theory picks up steam and there are reports of people killing dogs, burning them alive. But the doctor who posted this is adamant that its true and is saying that he should have freedom to say what he wants, do you keep the video up?

@The Don  I can understand your point, but this issue is actually far more complicated that it seems to be. It's definitely not true that any kind of speech goes. For example, I can't dox someone and post death threats at them, the law enforcement will intervene obviously. Likewise, I cannot post copyrighted content claiming that it is mine. Clearly, my freedom of speech and expression is being restricted by the latter scenarios, but would you still invoke the First Amendment rights in these cases? Lines clearly do exist, but where they should be drawn... I don't know myself.

In any case, what does that have to do with the Left? I'm not Leftist, but Leftist ideals go far beyond the realm of Freedom of Speech, it's not just loony college campus SJW feminist non-binary cringe.

Conservatives have prevented Dr. Fauci from testifying in front of the House. Republicans in Florida fired a scientist for building an accurate COVID-19 tracker. These are also clear instances of free-speech violations, can I use this to implicate the entire Right?

P.S. If you're looking for some good Leftist content, look up Kyle Kulinski on YouTube.

Release me.

If you really believe that, there's nothing I can say to open your mind.

We're living in the greatest depression that has ever existed. It is nothing like the great depression since 1929.

What are your thoughts on this video? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VORvfCEm070

"Unemployment Is Mortality" Dennis reads you a telling interview from the former head of the Israeli Health Ministry. "the Draconian measures are of Biblical proportions, hundreds of millions of people are suffering."

I was against the lockdowns from the beginning. It didn't flatten the curve. Sweden proved it.

Christians and republicans were also against the lockdowns. They were right.

Now hundreds of millions of people are suffering badly because of these unnecessary lockdowns.

Here's an article from RCP, entitled How Fear, Groupthink Drove Unnecessary Global Lockdowns. Elon Musk tweeted this article.

We've made the biggest error in human history regarding the lockdowns.

I no longer take advice from so-called 'experts'. You might be a bright person but not wise.

It doesn't matter if you're smart or intelligent. If you have no wisdom, you're useless.
