Heavy metals

19 posts in this topic

I don't have much knowledge about heavy metals. Where should I begin? And is it true sauna helps detox heavy metals?

We should start a heavy metals thread! I'm very curious to hear the results from people who have done heavy metal detoxes

Hey,

Sorry for hijacking thread but its on the topic :)

Im adding fish to my diet. I have been avoiding fish due to the heavy metals, but I feel like I just have to have more variety in my diet.

Everywhere on the internet its said that "you should eat fish 2 days a week, but too much is bad", but I cant find quantities or how much fish is bad. Like, is the minimum 2 lunches, or is it 2 lunches and 2 dinners? How much is actually bad for you?

@Hansu No problem man!

I really want to get a heavy metals thread going.  I have no idea where to begin!

@Hansu with fish it is important to avoid the large carnivorous fish including tuna, octopuses sharks. Small fish like sardines, anchovies mackerel and salmon have relatively low mercury load because they don't eat other fish and their lifespan is shorter. These 4 also have a high Omega 3 proportion.

I think I'd also avoid the bottom-dwellers (shrimps, shells etc) because all the sediment and pollution often sits on the bottom of the sea/ocean although many people eat them for their high zinc content.

But fish is not a necessity and can be replaced by eating flaxseeds every day (for ALA) and adding an algae oil to get enough EPA and DHA

@Michael569

So, salmon should be relatively safe to eat? Im planning to eat fish 3-6 days a week (Only on either lunch or dinner)

@Hansu I think at 3-6 per week you could start getting overboard, 2-3 seems about right,  but do some research on the frequency and see what's best :) Ideally you should go for the tiny fish predominantly like sardines and eat them with bones to get a good supply of calcium and glycine. Eat them with a lot of vegetables and legumes to speed up colonic transit and reduce mercury absorption. Add to that a tablespoon of flax oil (non-fried) to get your EFAs covered.

@Michael569 Yeah, maybe its better to try spicing up beef and chicken meals than to eat too much fish :D

Thanks for the tips! Gonna cook my first fish lunch today

I liked this alternative view of cleansing/detoxing heavy metals:

( you can skip the ascension theory and go to 2:45 and forward for the detoxing of heavy metals)

@Leo Gura

I did some research about heavy metal detox protocols and came across the cutler protocol.

Before I start with it I would love to hear your opinion about it because you already have experience about detox protocols.

Cutler Protocol Summary:

DMSA (50 - 300mg) every 4 hours

ALA 30 - 200 mg every 4 hours

It is important to take it every 4 hours even at night.

You take it for 3 - 14 days (better to do it longer) and than make a break of the same length and than you start again until you are happy with your detox level.

Additional Supplements that help with the process ( vitamine B, C, E, zinc and magnesium are required)

Vitamin C: 4-12 g per day

Vitamin E: 1000+IU per day

Coenzym Q10: 100-400 mg per day

Beta-Carotin: 7.5+ mg per day

Milk thistle Extrakt: (250-750 mg Silymarin) per day

linseed oil: 15-50 g per day

borage oil: 1-4 g €per day

Inositol, or Inositol Hexaphosphat: 2-12 g per day

Lysine: 2 g €per day

Arginin: 6 g €per day

Magnesium: 750 mg per day

Chromium: 1000 µg per day

Acetyl-L-Carnitin: 1-2 g per day

high dosed vitamine b complex per day

Zink: 50-100mg €per day

Molybdenum: 1,000 µg per day

Ergoloid mesylate (Hydergine  ): 10-20 mg per day

@herghly if you want to learn more about toxic sources and how to protect yourself consider purchasing Joe Pizzorno's book https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toxin-Solution-Products-Destroying-Health/dp/0062427466/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=toxin+solution&qid=1588853309&sr=8-1

TL;DR the rest of thread

if you want to eat fish specifically for omega-3 try flaxseed. They are more healthy and they are delicious.

If you wanna detox check out Medical Mediums Heavy metal detox smoothie

Combine that with 16oz Celery Juice every morning & no “radical fats” (basically any fat) before 12pm and you’ll detox heavily!

oh and 16-32oz of Lemon infused water upon waking, 30 mins before the celery juice.

Im on day 4 of this minus the smoothie and feel amazing

Have you read the book yet? :) I have and I think it is a great protocol that you can easily try to follow yourself.
