I read a book about Pornography, it left me thinking: Why it's even legal?

I guess it’s okay in moderation. But I think sex is healthier. After a porn sesh theres a super dirty feeling, kinda liked a just binged on McDonalds or something,  a quality that isn’t there with sex

By banning porn you think it would make society healthier, but actually it would do the opposite as now men will have no way of releasing their sexual energy in a safe & healthy way.

Hahahahahahaah I'm sorry but I find this actually hilarious, "no way of releasing their sexual energy" - how about masturbation without watching pornography?! Y'all are so lazy, too lazy to use your MIND to create the images and scenarios you wish to see... And too addicted to realise that sexual release is possible without porn haha

I'm not anti-porn, I watched a video last night... But I prefer to not need to use something external to 'get me in the mood'.

DON'T BE LAZY

Of course it's possible.

And it's possible to walk to the grocery store rather than using a car.

But we are technological creatures.

Once a technology is out, you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Most guys are NOT going to be satisfied with just their imaginations. Especially now that they've seen porn their whole life.

Most people are mediocre.

You have a very good point there.

It's considered outdated by some people yet it's trustworthy.

I relied very much on it when my boyfriend was away for work.

I mean I cultivated my imagination when he wasn't around to provide. Like imagining him.

Erotica is really good if you don't want to go tech-free, assuming you find something you like. Although people who gravitate toward erotica are probably more into the psychologically aspects of the experience. Basically a prompt for helping you flex your imagination muscles.

Sometimes a person needs something vivid and intense to release the tension.  Otherwise it remains no matter what you do. And then you start doing crazy stuff. This is especially true for people who do spiritual work who are messing around with awakening and exploration of consciousness.

No matter how much you don't like it or how much evidence you provide to how dangerous "porn" is, it will never be viable to regulate how people choose to use their bodies.

It's preposterous.

@Leo Gura What about those people who are really hardcore addicts who watch porn a couple of times a day and ruin their day-to-day lives because of that? I've read reports like that on Reddit No Fap. I think that community exists for such people, not people like you who doesn't use it that often.

Don't you consider it to be a problem? What do you think is the solution to that? Not banning, obviously.

And what about people who eat 20 hot dogs per day and 1 gallon of ice cream and a 6-pack of Coke? Should we ban hot dogs and ice cream and Coke?

There are far too many juicy things in the world to ban them all. Learn to control your cravings.

You can install a porn filter on your computer if you really can't hold yourself back.

I'll call it an unnecessary evil like so many others, till our politics & governments are solely focused on achieving materialistic growth, we can justify porn and all the devilry that happens behind the curtain of human rights. But at least we must be alert that it doesn't go too far to the point of abuses, let's try not be ignorant of all the devilry just because it's juicy.

What about people that have one hot dog every day or two? 'Moderation' like with porn? Still not really advisable is it?

Banning is completely the wrong approach, absolute freedom means we have the choice to consume what we wish.

If that is a life on porn, weed, junk food and coke, then so be it. Often, people aren’t happy with these lifestyles and decide to “transcend” them and become happier, these people may decide to quit using porn.

For example, I think Coca Cola is poison so don’t ever drink it, that doesn’t mean I think it should be banned, as some people wish to drink it, despite the health effects, that is their choice as a human. Maybe one day, enough people will stop drinking it and care more about their health, in that Coca Cola will actually have to create a healthy product in response.

I actually think the opposite regarding Drugs, and believe they should all be made legal, so users can 1) get a cleaner product and 2) Addicts can get the help they need. If we ban porn maybe it’ll follow down the whole looking down on Porn addicts as most of society does with drugs.

It’s a complex issue with Porn, because to overcome the addiction it isn’t as easy as simply not watching, it is usually a sign of some underlying issue, so needs a bit more effort than just stopping watching, for many “No-Fap” is a gateway into personal development work.

Personally, I have struggled with Porn for a long time, and I realised it was because I wasn’t being sexually expressive with my ex-GF, we didn’t talk enough about what we both really wanted from our sex life.

Currently, I’m on a 90 day Porn reset which you have probably heard of, and I feel it’s exactly what I need right now :)
