How To Discover Unconscious Feelings And Repressed Aspects Of Self ?

7 posts in this topic

I'd like to explore the whole unconscious side of me more, which for sure contains a lot of repressed emotions which I'd like to let go off.

Does anyone have anyone idea on how to bring them to the light ?

Same for the rejected, repressed or "forgotten" aspects of self ?

How do we bring the light deep into the subconscious ?

Life provides you everyday with opportunities to bring those aspects to light. Awareness is the first step.

This also might help:

effective methods i've discovered so far: strong determination sitting meditations, everyday emotional triggers(they point to deeper unresolved experiences), development of being-perception, getting in contact with body and body sensations, good old lsd and shrooms. All of them have proved effective and have pros and cons.

If you want some fast acting catalyst I would go for a psychedelic trip or vipassana retreat (www.dhamma.org)

for the long run its better to establish a daily meditation habit, if you wanna go deep you gotta increase awareness

also, its REALLY helpfull to develop a non-judgemental perception so that your habits can bubble up without resistance. Its cool cause you can train this inside ordinary life, with other people and places

"I gently pushed my hand into my pocket and pulled the last one out, it trembled at first and clung to my hand. "Go on, it will be ok," I whispered. Encouraged, it flexed its wings and I knew the time was right. It flew up towards the blue, blue sky and I looked proudly as it's made its way to freedom. The last of my fucks was finally given."

In a psychological way observe your current behaviours, obsessions, hangups.  Just observe without judgement and with a curiosity to try to understand yourself.

It's going to take repeated action and observing until the "ah ha's" come.  But they will if you stick with it.

There is no need to dig into the unconscious or psychoanalyse.  If there are dysfunctional or painful patterns now, then this is the unresolved past in you expressing itself now.

The way to access things that you're unconscious to is to put your awareness on things that you have a pattern of ignoring. For example, if an uncomfortable emotion comes up that you might want to ignore, don't ignore it. Put your full attention and awareness on the sensation that the emotion brings up in your body. Observe it with no judgement. You want to think about it like 'checking your emotional email.' Once you've read it, it no longer needs to be there. The psyche is a self-correcting mechanism. It gives you whatever you need right now to bring yourself back into alignment, as long as you can give it your undivided attention. So, just release resistance to whichever thoughts and emotions come up and allow yourself to observe them with complete honesty, acceptance, and non-intervention.

If you meditation consistently every day for 20 minutes or more, after some time, you will start to experience this. Because thoughts and feelings get purified during meditation if you are trained and get into an alpha state during your session. Then that means that your body releases thoughts and emotions and you will be aware of the these unconscious feelings and aspects of self as they are occuring within awareness.
