Is life worth loving?

Love is dangerous. When we love, inevitably some day we'll have to let go of our object of love. The only thing we never need to let go of is consciousness / existence / creation... because ultimately that's all there is. Perhaps this is the essence of self-love; not love of the human self but love of the eternal self. I explain my feelings more in depth on this video. Have y'all ever felt this way?

That sounds like a big shadow to me. It's true that ordinary love is futile, yet its purpose is to actually teach us true love. Light doesn't come from nothing, dark is turned into light. imagine it like a training, you practice lower tier love in order to learn higher tier love. Just understanding this and pretending as if you already achieved higher tier love isn't going to get you there.

This reminds me of balance of dualities. Love and Sorrow ; Form and Formless ; Permanence and Impermanence. There is a dance between the two within the duality as well as a collapse of the duality in which Love is Sorrow and Sorrow is Love. . . I used to eye gaze with a woman I dated. We would both go empty and gaze into each other’s eyes for 5 min. or so. Time and space dissolved.  All sorts of stuff would appear from the emptiness. One time an essence of Love / Sorrow appeared., It was so deeply Love and so deeply Sorrowful. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. It was like we lived a whole life together with both Love and Sorrow. Yet the Love was also Sorrow and the Sorrow was also Love.

@Serotoninluv Nicely written.  Yes, love is sorrow in a sense. That's kinda what I mean when I say that even though love is beautiful, we must always let go of what we love eventually. Except for being, of course. That's the caveat that saves that day. 

I had this conversation with my father recently. We were talking about how love can be so intense, so momentous, so fiery. It can be like a high sometimes. But then when you come down, it takes a lot of mental fortitude and clarity to fill the gap which love has left behind.

Yes, I’ve experienced this as well. To me, it seems like two sides of the same coin. As Love enters and fills me, it feels like expansive wholeness. When love leaves, it feels like an gap of emptiness. For me, trying to fill that gap can be limiting. When I experience that gap, it is as if a knife is carving that gap deeper and broader. This creates more space and capacity to love. Then the space is refilled with even more love, deeper love. And when that love leaves, there is a larger gap. If I sit with the gap, it gets carved and expands. . . The subjective experience is that the filling feels like love and the emptying + carving is sadness and longing. I used to look for external things to avoid the experience of emptying and carving. Yet I’ve learned, its all Love. The filling, emptying, carving, refilling. The entire process is Love. 

One of my favorite poems in this area is “Love and Sorrow” by Kahlil Gibran.

@Serotoninluv  Yes, exactly! The cycle, the ebb and flow, the yin and yang. No form is eternal, only the love of being. As they say, love comes and goes but Love never leaves.

@Meta-Man Ah okay. Ego gratification is not what I'm referring to. Been there, done that. 

The way I see it, true love is love of eternal being. Yet the eternal being is inseparable from what that (one) eternal being is experiencing, In other words, the being and the being's experience are one. To put it in Aristotle's words, "You are what you do." What I'm referring to in the video is that I experience so much that I love. Everything from people to dreams to books to movies to photographs to nature, etcetera. But the love can get trapped in forms, trying to keep what is loved. All that is loved must eventually be lost. Except true love, of course, which is eternal being.

@Meta-Man No self is limited, because all selves are infinite. Yet all selves are limited, because if you wish to be anything, you must be something instead of everything, because if you're everything then you are nothing. The only unlimited self is the no self, which only exists when nothing exists. Yet all selves are unlimited, because just as there are infinite numbers, 1 2 3 4 5 6 etcetera, there are also infinite numbers between 1 and 2.

I was contemplating 

I'll share my goal maybe some of you will find me silly and that's ok to me.

I dream of utopia everyday, something that doesn't exclude, something more high, something more conscious, something that include all beings.

but more than a dream. A goal, a path. A self meaning.

I want to make it an objective reality and that's my own goal everyday. Create the world I want to see, by projecting it into reality.

So If Life worth living, loving ? As you wish. You're free.

Let's find out, there is so many people that talk, that "knows" how "this" work. They are all so much self knowing reality.
they believe they truly know what love is.
like if you could grasb something that big.

carving myself, aspiring to it.

Everyone can tell me that's I m deluded, yes I m !
and that's ok, cause I love my delusion ❤️

if love was only for me, there would be no way I can feel "that" inside me.
and that is enough for making me wake up in the morning and see what I can truly make out of my life.

@Meta-Man Sure, many people are caught up in that mindset. I'm not sure how accurate your percentage is. I've met a lot of folks who, on the surface, appear to be lost in the human world, but upon getting to know them more, find that there is much more depth to them. Some folks are quite enlightened, but simply enjoy playing the human game. I don't judge them, I do it sometimes too. But also, I have indeed met folks who are very caught up in the "I love this and hate that" mindset.

I agree. I've been browsing the "spiritual" world for awhile now and I feel like there is a misconception with this notion of "Self with a capital S" or the "True Self". Everything is consciousness, yes; but consciousness has no substance. Or in other words, its substance is nothing. Folks talk a lot about those who know the True Self and those who don't, but when you meet these "True Self Knowers" in person, they're human just like everyone else, with insecurities, flaws and all.

I'd put it this way instead: 99.999999% of humans are human.
