Why is the default setting of reality 'maya'?

Don't you think it's strange that we are "born" into this world and here the majority of us are right now living on the planet in maya/illusion? Why would it be that we have to do certain practices in order to awaken from the illusion? I understand that the default setting of ego is necessary for survival but it is awfully strange that it is illusion.

You were removed from God when you ate from the tree and gained the knowledge of good and evil. You didn't actually eat from a literal tree of course, this biblical analogy is representative of the moment that your brain created the idea that "you" exist. Since "good and evil" is determined by what is good and evil *for you*. $900,000 cash is "good" because it's good for you. A fire in your house is "bad" because it's bad for you, you like your house. So your brain, when you are born, automatically creates the idea that you are a person who must continue to exist which creates good and evil and separates you from reality/god.

The brain is like a car with it's accelerator super glued to the floor, constantly going, creating ideas automatically to help it, continue to go. Slowing down the car until it comes to a complete halt must be achieved before you can open the door and be free

@andyjohnsonman So that God can experience duality. So that God can experience all of itself. So that we humans could exist through survival, like you said. So that Love can be maximized. These are all the reasons that pop into my head.

If the question starts from why the answer - to maximize Love
If the question starts from how the answer - magic
If the question starts from who the answer - Love, God, Infinity

It's useful to have a theoretical foundation by reading books (contemplating in the forum) but then you face the rock-bottom answers like "You are God". You have to check these answers via your direct experience with spiritual practices otherwise it's just a mental masturbation.

There is no such thing as maya. There is only truth. Reality allows for infinite truths. Reality is perfect. Whatever view you want is the right one and will always lead you to truth.
