Hospitals refuse to allow staff equipment

2 posts in this topic

I think this is a somewhat shocking example of medicine for profit gone too far.  It seems like something a lot of people would get outraged about.  I'm curious about how effective protests would be when they are safe.  Other than that I wonder what actions an individual could take to correct this.

the problem here is that a hospital then would have also to give some kind of guidelines about what kind of protection from outside in what situation is allowed - another problem is the information this would maybe suggest to the sick - there is always the problem that some people then might think its more safe than it really is.

one point is, that there is not better or worse protection - but only protection of others or oneself and there of course might be a percentage of probability of potential protection, that’s why guidelines are so strict from official side.

a hand sewn mask has a high probability of higher protection of others from getting infected, if you are spreading the virus but not yourself entirely even though it might help a little bit - but if you wear it in a hospital it might also carry particles with it from one patient to the next - so you might would need some kind of impregnation or spray some disinfectant on it from time to time to minimize carrying the virus around. ()

a mask which is produced for the emergency room is produced to protect the patients open wound but not the practitioner so it is only a higher safety equipment to protect others from getting infected if you are the virus carrier but not entirely yourself.

the only mask which is giving a maximum protection and can keep a person from getting infected themselves  is a  mask which usually is used in the finedust worker protection and everything above. because these masks are tested under certain conditions and have to fulfill a checklist of requirements. like closing airtight around the face, having a finedust permeability where even micro micro micro particles can’t permeate. but here if they have a ventile they only protect the carrier but not others. a hospital worker would need to put an airtight tape on top of the ventile to reassure the safety both ways.

if anything what would make the most sense for hospital workers especially at the quarantine stations would be gas masks or laquer masks which can be sterilized, they have the slightest permeability because have to filter gases which are not even counted as particles anymore even though still having molecular structure. these masks could be also used by high high risk groups. military should have enough of these.

although i also think its a farce forbidding equipment from the outside -  i also see the concerns - a general plan in areas where what equipment is allowed and makes the most sense in would be important if people would be allowed to bring in own equipment. although carrying one mask going from one patient to the next while these patients might have additional bacterial infections, might be as counterproductive as not having any.

these working conditions where hospitals tell their workers to use some equipment twice or ask people to cut down on material in hygienic aspects are not new - but of course now that they are needed it shows the working conditions under a new light. sometimes a woodworker is better protected than a health worker. while its both somehow about trees falling. shocking isn’t it?

still if everyone would wear some kind of mask on the streets it would probably have an effect on the spreading of the virus and even if its one of textile... a half face mask covering only the upper part of the face though is hilarious - don’t even think about that, that’s only visual protection, even if its a super hero mask, although one of these promotion mikey mouse heads could be really effective both ways, they even have a buffer zone in the emergency case you want to smash your head against some wall or so.

it‘s the same probably in almost every hospital on the world at the moment.

by the way there is a recipe on how to make hand sanitizers of ethanol by the WHO - if hospitals run out of hand sanitizers or wipes to clean beds... vinegar essence might also help at least a little bit. maybe hospital workers should have a crisis meeting and decide democratic about how to proceed under these circumstances.
