Brain Exercise

8 posts in this topic

Hey everybody,

a couple of days ago i thought about space and time ( i'm not a mathematican but grasp the concepts of ) and how our brain is limited by the dimensions we live in.

So i took a lattice cube an drew it onto a board. the visual paradox, at what direction the cube really shows got me realizing that transforming objects down a dimensional step changes their true nature ( the cube in 3d and the drawing on 2d ). So taking this further i realized that even the physical cube would only show to my eyes one perspective ( .. of things ? :-) ). so when i rotate the cube in front of me i can in time capture different views and stick them conceptually together in my mind as a cube ( intereseting ). So i thought it seems reasonable that in a 5 dimensional domain ( i here reference time / space as 4d in my example ) - the everchanging physical world of ours must look differently and make totally different meanings. So my brain can only handle 4d ( 2d with altered perspecitve serving as pseudo 3d and time to see the infinite perspectives of the 'real' cube). The question arises :

Are we a subpartion of 5 .... n dimensional reality ? And if so can we shift our counsciousness 'out' of our 'limited' brain / body complex to percieve a larger reality ....?

I know this seems to not make sense - but thtat is my whole point. Can we transform our consciousness and bodies to be able to experience higher dimensional realities of the same thing - Interesting !

For all those who are more confident in using the brain as a preliminary tool on the road to ... wherever .... i found a nice youtube video that can transform your view / experience on physical reality.

All the best O.o

I really want to transform my consciousness as you suggest...I have wondered that very same question about shifted reality since childhood. I also  have numerous books of brain puzzles... (it's a strange hobby...to attempt neuro-plastic-reconnection of my pathways after an injury)... but to be honest, i likely may not understand this concept unless you draw it out step by step or something...I am a visual thinker, I used to have a photographic memory as well...I have the natural ability to rotate something in my mind and get a clear imagining of what the other sides may look like...I hope these could help me to be a candidate for this experience... are 4d, 5d etc theoretical inventions or is this current science?... (p.s. Sorry, but those spiralling videos would make me puke, brain injury)

For some reason this is making me think of Leo's enlightenment experience, the "hair on the tail" thing. From what I understand, enlightenment is less like a shifted reality, and more like the ultimate vivid clarity of true reality.

@Epiphany_Inspired

Hey @Epiphany_Inspired

maybe this video would help in some way

as an old greek philosopher said, we are seeing 'shadows' of a possible 4d+ dimension in the background of the cave ( our physical world ).

Calculating and doing logical deducement in our world is slippery slope ( tensors are a way of doing that ).

In the end the only thing that mattered for me is my 'initial' motivation on why i wanna persue 'enlightenement'. In my case it was straightforward -  sufferring ( traumatic childhood ). Another strong motivator i had was to discover the world on my own. Maybe the 'silent and wise voice inside of us' is using all these creations to communicate us the 'truth' - but we have to reprogramm ourselfs in order to make sense of it. Last but not least a method that works for me is to let go off the autopilot ( it's like a raging horse buggy - see buddha's 'taming the monkey mind ).

I'd love to talk more about this and help to the best of my abilities - so please don't hesitate and go along with this topic.

All the best

I almost forgot to ask how you are coming along with the reprogramming of your neuroplastic pathways. Any particular method that you have or discovered for yourself ?

@Mppdidi that video was perfect, step by step with drawings, just what I requested, thanks! When the hyper shapes explode, you really get a sense of how it works, and the little bonus video; exploring a 4d space with headset, was awesome! I can really see why you are intrigued. I did some research... and of course our two eyes have limitations. I bet there is someone out there that is willing to let a mad scientist try to re-wire their visual cortex to see with 4 eyes (especially if they are a big Sci-Fi fan, and think 4 eyes would look cool regardless.... ha ha.... that's said, humans have an incredible potential... perhaps there is a way to use each of our eyes as multiple eyes... perhaps our third eye has unlimited potential...etc....

I have very similar motivations for my journey and greatly respect your efforts to both explore and evolve.

I have had mixed results with personal experiments in neuro-plastic progression, same with the programs at the hospital, a few things were great,  but many ineffective and not worth the time. I am often disappointed that my results are not more significant, at the same time, I am unbelievably grateful for every inch of improvement. If I ever re-gain my photographic memory, I will be forever in awe of it, and never take it's awesomeness for granted. I remember my friends would use it like a party trick, open a closet for a sec or something, and I could list all the contents in colour coded order... but they never understood why I couldn't use it to memorize books for tests. I was able to recall the graphics in the books only, and some words encircling the picture, words that beyond were a blur... crazy... the human mind is pretty special regardless of how plastic it is, or isn't, regardless. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh, I meant to add this quote from an instructor of psychological optics:

 "the human eye doesn't see three dimensions but rather that it detects differences in retinal disparity and several monocular cues and interprets those cues to allow judgements about depth (distance). If you could fabricate a true 4-Dimensional object the human eye would detect some aspects of it. Those aspects would include retinal disparity, height in a plane, variations in optical sharpness (aerial perspective), etc. Many aspects of such an object would be distorted by the attempt to interpret them in the manner that the individual has learned to use those cues to interact with his/her normal environment. So, the best that Physiological Optics can offer is that some parts of a 4 dimensional object could be detected but would not provide any useful information."

This seems a bit defeatist to me...

@Epiphany_Inspired

depending on your age you might consider taking it slow but steady to regain your ability. personally i regained the ability to get good at math at the age of about 16 ( long story short a teacher of mine helped me probably wihtout knowing that he reconfigured my way of doing math ). At about the age of 25 i had a very profound emotional experience ( my emotional blockade was lifted in a kickstart fashion ). Back than i also was intrigued with having a photograpic memory. So came up with this mantra  'let got of holding things in your head, the universe has all things stored for you'. This is no joke !. From that day one my memory and the ability to recall vividly things in a photographic way kicked in instantly - i was able to recall scenes from very early childhood. In my case my memory works on an emotional recall basis ( i was always convinced that emotional intelligence is way more powerfull than anything else ). I also stumbled upon our human synthetic 3d perception quite early 9_9. All i read about our brains anatomy is that we are probably hard wired for 3d ( pseudo 2d ). But that is just what people say and deduce - so no real evidence for me ! In order to regain your abilities it is worth a shot to see if you have emotional traumas that block your ability. Thanks for sharing, i look forward to hearing from you.

All the best xD
