Surrendering (someone?)

5 posts in this topic

I'm curious about how do you relate to "surrendering" as a spiritual posture.

Can you really let go? (desires, plans, expectations, fears...)

Is this a decision that can be made?

Why you don't let go?

If you have done it, how is your progress happening?

How to let go? Something made you understand and embody it in an easier way?

Thank you!

There´s nothing to let go of. Just a thought telling you that there is something to let go of.

First , the story was that the object (you believe you were attached to an object, you just were to a thought)

Now the story is that you have to let of the attachment. (you believe that you now have to let go of an object, which in fact the only thing you have to let go of is of the thought that tells you this)

Better stay in the Now and contemplate, from this place, if letting go is not, in fact, already the case.

@Hugo Oliveira

You might like the book The Surrender Experiment. It’s packed with insight with regards to law of attraction as well. Speaking of, if you haven’t read Ask & It Is Given (and started a dreamboard) I recommend it asap!

One tip I really want to give you is that surrender is certainly NOT a psychological rejection. That is creating more stories and can become quite troublesome.

It's rather awareness of focused attention and then releasing this through a relaxing intention.

Key point to realize is that awareness is always here and comes before your doing/actions.

Letting go is eventually quite a physical undertaking. The focused attention is mostly somewhere around the headspace (as your imaginary ego supposedly should reside there). Through relaxing the physical attention into the open awareness that is always here and has nothing to do with your doing/actions, you learn to coincide with the consciousness rather than get lost into infinite psychological loops.

The Heart of Centering prayer - Cynthia Bourgeault (book) explains this very neatly.

She also has this vid that could ignite some curiousity.

Wish you the best.

I really appreciate all these high-quality answers. I think that what you guys said is being perceived in my experience. My conception of surrendering was generating hard internal struggles.
Thank you also for the resources, I will check it carefully. Please, everyone feel free to keep discussing it.
