@jes I'm sure if you let the mood be and stop making a story about some shit, then the feelings will pass? :)  I'm not sure why there has to be some kind of identity attached to everything one does.  It's utter nonsense

@jes It's OK.  Maybe you thought my answer was short?  You can still ask a question if you feel like it.  If not that's fine too.  Hope the insights come

Try to put a clamp on your feet close to a chair, then you will be seated close to a table with the book. You can breathe and re-collect your thoughts and you can study too

Leave your phone and everything electronic at home, and go to a library. When I was a student, I always went to the library or the study room in my dorm to study. Being with people who work hard kinda makes me want to study as well, and I can do my best to concentrate. If you are in front of a computer and discussing in a forum you'll never find quality time to study.

If you have some research to do and need the computer, what I do is I download all the articles I need before I go to the library (even printing on scrap paper works great). In the library I don't turn on wifi, which keeps me very focused. The feeling/urge "did someone give me an answer on the forum?" "did someone like my photo on one of my pages?" always keep you busy, whatever it is I want to do; study, work, meditate.

Get unplugged :) @jes

Take this lack of motivation as a reason to reflect on weather you're on the right path in life. If you are truly interested in what you study and the career opportunities it might lead to, then it will probably feel like you're wasting your time if you're not studying. However, if you study something just because someone else told you so, you might deep down feel like you're wasting your time. This obviously does not make you motivated. However, please to not jump to any quick conclusions. This is a big one which can take a long time process. Related video:

If you got this core down and you simply have a hard time concentrating, I would suggest taking a look at what you do when you're not studying. Are you meditating, listening to/reading resourceful self help books, eating well, sleeping well, working  out, socializing etc. or are you doing very highly stimulating activities and switching frequently between them, like for instance going on clickbait marathons while eating foods with lots of sugar and salt? Constantly checking notifications? If you recharge with highly stimulating acitivtes, you're work will become more scattered. That's just my experience.

Thank you for responding. Did you find that this is the case for you (what you quoted)? I'm interested since I'm just writing what I found based on my own experiences and it would be helpful to get references from others.

@jes

Focus on things you really LOVE. Your talents and gifts are already there waiting for you to bring it out to the world. Go deep and match the things you love with your studies. Please take action on this. Moods just come and go.

@jes everything is a decision. You are applying yourself as the victim. You have the power to not play the victim and be the victor.

Everything all comes down to how badly you want something. That what drives motivation, determination and persistence.
