Recommendations for Ayahuasca Retreat!?

6 posts in this topic

I'm planning to do an ayahuasca retreat this year in november in peru or Maybe in ecuador. Arkana spiritual center seems to offer pretty good retreats: https://www.arkanainternational.com/.

The YouTube channel "Adeptus Psychonautica" recommends arkana and also "Your Mate Tom":

Quote

The most profound experience of my life! And that’s really saying something given all the powerful experiences I’ve had in my life. After shooting through hyperspace and merging with God - which felt like cosmic paradise in eternity. I let go of such a huge burden from my heart -Deep existential fear of death, grief and the transient nature of reality all melted away when I had direct experience of where we come from and where we are going. For the first time in my life I can truly say, there is nothing to be afraid of! And thank God for that.
This photo captured when I just came back to the human plane and was immensely grateful to be in this reality again. We truly are living in a magical existence.
Thank you to Jose @arkana.ayahuasca for strongly encouraging me to partake in this sapo ceremony, otherwise I wouldn’t of done it due to fear. I’m genuinely excited to integrate everything I’ve learned in the real world and continue serving as many people as I can. For now, I’m going on a break again from medicine, but I would TOADally do it again. This was the cherry on top ? (Your Mate Tom)

What were your experiences with aya retreats like? Where did you do it? Do you have any specific recommendations?

Bring whatever you need to be comfortable. Some sit up, some people lie down. Bring whatever cushiness to be comfortable.

Bring earplugs and an eye mask. You'll want to be in complete sensory deprivation. You will be very sensitive to sound and light. Most Aya ceremonies are full of chanting and music. Some are into that, whereas I want silence so I can go deep.

My advice, keep going to get another dose. Whatever reason you're there for, you want to experience what Aya has to offer. I wouldn't hesitate to keep going up to get more. You won't regret it.

Don't worry about purging. It's part of the process. You feel better afterwards. My experience is about a quarter purges, so you could not purge at all.

Right before, think of your intensions. What do you want the plant medicine to help you with?

The main thing is to fully surrender. Trust the plant medicine to guide you. Completely let go, and you will experience wonders you can't even imagine.

The key to breaking through with Aya, is meditation. Surrendering to no thought will let the medicine take you.

@Jed Vassallo  Thank you for your tips! Where did you do the retreat?

You're welcome. I live in Seattle, WA, and there are many Aya retreat centers within an hour drive. Spoiled I know.

Cool. I live in Munich in Germany. I could also do a 2 days retreat around here. However I would like to do a 5-10 days retreat in the amazon. I think the location and the people, who offer the retreat, have a big impact on the experience.
