good. use it to develop equanimity. don't judge it, its just bodymind doing its thing. just observe it. try and separate the different components of it. observe it as you wold observe a work of art. and remember- as leo put wisely- the worst meditations are the best meditations

"I gently pushed my hand into my pocket and pulled the last one out, it trembled at first and clung to my hand. "Go on, it will be ok," I whispered. Encouraged, it flexed its wings and I knew the time was right. It flew up towards the blue, blue sky and I looked proudly as it's made its way to freedom. The last of my fucks was finally given."

another useful tip is to shed the light of awareness on your body sensations while experiencing this (or any other emotion) instead of the ordinary movement or thought reaction. by paying attention to them you iluminate their causes and give them a chance to be resolved and released.

no though, no drama, no conclusion, no answer. just the movement of love itself

When I started meditating for over 4 hours per day I cried multiple times per day for about two-three months and it was like the best time of my life to be honest. It really means that you are getting a lot of shit out of your system and it's being replaced with freedom.

Hi, I will not attempt to answer your question but tell you what happens to me...

Every now and then I cry during meditation. For me it always feels like tears of joy. It seems to happen when I feel an overwhelming sense of oneness with space/no-thing/silence, that sort of thing. The thing that makes me laugh (at myself/my ego) is my desperation to get back to that point which means I have made a goal for my meditation which will then probably stop me from feeling it again!

If I had written your sentence I would ask myself these questions...

What does crying mean to me (am I labelling it as "good" or "bad")?

Do I really "need" to reach this goal of 1 hour (or should I just stop when my session feels done)?

Chris.

jes i once had two non physical beings live with me for three months, i cried a lot as they were teaching me realities of myself and of life.  dont worry about the tears, there is a reason for them, it will reveal itself at the right time.

@charlie2dogs Yea, me too. What was the message? Can it be shared with others? I balled my eyes out one time when I realized the collective consciousness of the of the planet and all it's inhabitants. It was everything the beauty, the ugliness, the good, the bad, the divine, the light, the darkness, the hate, the love ect.

I do mostly Self Inquiry but I also do Shikantaza (do nothing) and kinhin (the walking meditation technique that is used in Zen).

This one is my favorite.

Currently I've taken the technique to new levels, and have stopped meditating altogether.  ;)
