Is self actualization necessary?

@Son of leo The first step on that path is inspecting the thoughts. Can you explain precisely, exactly how society is literally preventing you from doing what you actually want to do?

What if your belief that you can’t do what you want to do, is the suffering...as in, feeling is telling you that thought isn’t true, but you’re ignoring your feeling, and continuing to belief the thought?

@Nahm I've inspected it thoroughly. It's my parents. They don't want me to meditate because they fear I will turn into a sage. I've tried convincing them so many times but its fruitless. The society (neighbors) believe I have gone mad and insane doing all this and tell my parents to take me to mental asylum, can you imagine that lol? So I had to quit forcefully.

They are wrong. My life is getting ruined but they are too ignorant and unwilling to learn.

I'm from India.

The believing of thoughts is sneakier than you’re noticing. The very time you’re spending trying to get them to see things your way, is the time you could be meditating. This is distraction, believing thoughts. Just meditate. Write about feelings to understand them, rather than avoiding them.

That was more of what I’m saying. Believing thought and ignoring feeling. Sounds like this has been going on for quite a while. I would let your neighbors be as they are. You’re (on this post) using them as your reason not to feel, essentially. Just feel your feelings.

Let go of believing thoughts about wether other people are right or wrong. They have their owns thoughts. They got that covered. They have their own feelings too. No need to pretend their thoughts are related to your feelings. Your feelings, are related to your thoughts, about what they think.

It’s you and your feeling & thoughts that should be most important to you.

I did that too by the way, blamed everyone else. It never felt good for me either.

@Son of leo Take a minute now, and write the exact opposite thoughts...? See for yourself that you can change how you look at things, you’ll inevitably find you can have your cake and eat it to. Want, rather than need, is the doorway to noticing attachment to thought. “I might want them to see things my way....but I sure as heck don’t need them to.” You can do, be, and have anything you dream up. Notice when thoughts feel resistant and stop, and inspect the thought / feeling relationship. Never ignore the feeling and believe the thought.

How bout starting a dream board? Just having fun, day dreaming, wishful thinking...getting everything you want up on the board. Not doing any of it, not even thinking of doing any of it. The sole purpose, just being to express it in a fun playful way.

@Commodent to get rich and successful in life

Not at all. Money and success are almost irrelevant to your level of development and understanding of reality.

Those things are mostly related to blind luck and opportunity.
