Bread And Rice!!!

2 posts in this topic

Leo has mentioned that consuming rice and bread aren't good for health? Can anyone tell me why is that so? What's their problem each?

If I stop eating them, what kind of nutrients will I lack that I would have to get it from other food?

@Mary

There is a good book 'Grain Brain' by David Perlmutter that talks about the downside of consuming grains/ products made of grains. There are a few gluten-free grains that I still include into my diet - rice, millet, buckwheat, quinoa. Our body needs healthy starches to facilitate various functions, and rice is one wholesome starch source. Non-organic rice has been known for being contaminated by arsenic, so no-GMO, organic foods are always a better choice.
