Peter Ralston Retreat/Apprenticeship

15 posts in this topic

As I am finishing up the life purpose course, I am realizing deeply how much spirituality and enlightenment is the foundation the most essential part of my LP. I would love to mentor with the greatest sages/enlightened masters and pick their brain. I went to a Rupert Spira event about three weeks ago in London and he blew me away.

Next on my list is Peter Ralston. I want to spend 2 weeks in the spring at his retreat and possibly apprentice for him (although his program is $15,000) and i am a broke college student)

Has anyone seen Ralston in person/completed his apprenticeship program ? I would love to hear testimonials.

Thank you.

@Chumbimba $15000 seems like a lot to spend if you don't have a lot of money. Try a 10 day meditation retreat at a nearby vipassana center or something if you want to go on a retreat. A lot of places don't charge first timers too.

@Raptorsin7 I completed a 10 day Vipassana in May. It changed my life but I would like to try other methods of enlightenment work. Yeah 15000 is a lot, but I heard Ralston is going to stop the program soon.

Highly recommend his workshop. Can’a say Im interested in an apprenticeship. Though I've gained tremendous value studying his approach to consciousness work, I felt like what I learned about in his books and workshop aren’t the only facets of awakening Im interested in.

There are many deep awakenings/insights to be hand beyond absolute truth and teachers to learn from. For example, I find psychedelics to be a form of the teacher/student dynamic. I see meditation as another teacher. Both of these methods wouldn’t be in balance with brute, focused contemplation which is what you get out of an apprenticeship. I think there is tremendous value in a holistic, personalized approach towards spirituality. You are your own best authority so trust your gut on what you think is best.

@Chumbimba Bottom line is that it will be too expensive for you. You need to look for cheaper options.

You don't need to spend that much money to do consciousness work.

Buy the Kriya Yoga books and get to work, if you're serious. Don't wait around for others to do the work for you.

@Leo Gura I have the books. Great booklist by the way. I just finished spiritual enlightenment the damndest thing by Jed McKenna. I have a good conceptual framework of enlightenment but I know awakening is not a concept.

So top spiritual practices

1. Kriya yoga

2. Meditation

3. Self-inquiry

4. Psychedelics ?

@Chumbimba  @Leo Gura mean I pay my teacher for 1-1 sessions, but why is Peter Ralstons programmes 15k out of interest, does he have a rationale behind it, I have nothing against people earning from this as you know, but 15k per person for 2 weeks seems a lot of cash. Am I missing something?

It’s 15k for like 6 months or more for the apprenticeship

@Display_Name @Consilience Fair play to the geeza if people pay it, coming up on 71 this year and still raking in the $$$.

On a serious note, that seems very expensive, but if he's charging it, people are obviously paying it.

@Chumbimba I mean if you're a student you're probably better off looking at other ideas mate, the price barrier must be there for a reason.

@LfcCharlie4 It is. But if you like his style, it could be life changing. I met someone at the workshop who'd done the apprenticeship and had nothing but positive things to say about it and how it transformed his life.

Personally, Im just too independent for something like that. I also don’t find Ralston’s approach to be the end all be all for consciousness work but hell... what’s 6 months out of a lifetime? Im sure it would be a crazy learning experience, albeit expensive lol.

The reason I am interested is because he is a master with 50+ years experience in the field of my life purpose. 15,000 to me is worthwhile I just don't have it at this very moment but the program is not until March of 2021

From what I heard, this will be the last apprenticeship he does so if you’re serious about it, this is probably your last chance @Chumbimba

@Chumbimba $15k so that someone can tell you to detach, let go and flow with the present moment? It is not nearly as complicated as people make it out to be. There is no "secret".
