Why Don't All Awakenings Last?

7 posts in this topic

The author is this video posts on here sometimes, so maybe he can help clarify.

Why does this video describe awakening as a sudden progress, where he's basically done after it happens. He seems to describe himself him as a seeker who had the sudden experience, and then the game was over.

Could someone take DMT and after a single dose experience the kind of breakthrough that's described above?

Can anyone explain more on this kind of sudden awakening that seemed to end the entire seeking process, versus a series of awakenings?

In my opinion he is not done,  he just got to non dual state and saw through some of the mind "games", how it operates, but it goes way deeper, to better describe he is just still mind that saw his own reflection.

@Raptorsin7 There are awakenings that are abiding and non-abiding. With non-abiding ones the seeking energy hasn't completely dissolved so there is a number of awakenings until it has dissolves completely.

@purerogue Do you mean a recontructed sense if self around the awakening experience?

Yes this goes deeper than seeing through the false sense of self in thought, there is also awakenings on the level of feeling and the existential self.

I am not sure if I get what you mean by if self is still around, self is still around in non dual states, it is just not directly connected to certain parts of mind, like thoughts, feelings, senses.

Mind is way more complex then then feeling of me , us ,everything, nothing, thoughts, emotions, senses, it is multilevel maze, that is extremely difficult to navigate as every step can be misstep without you realizing it, it is like being tricked into believing something ,but still being able to make correct move.

@Raptorsin7 "why it doesn't last?"

Because it never begins...

If it "starts" it will surely stop and end and thus not last.

It is not yet understood by the fish what water is... Is the fish ever not in the water?

It is like the fish asking why does the water come & go?

If it asks this, it is not yet aware that water is ever-present.

The Water / The Self becomes Revealed.

The actual answer lies in self recognition in thoughts, perception, and sensation, which is being taken for a person, video, story & question. That’d be a good start, seeing through the maya. Then samsara continues to convince, and is ‘burned’ away, purified, Then, thoughts, perception & sensation arise in appearance, and are known as what, who, how, and why this can not be otherwise. Then there is not a separate One to be ‘fooled’ again. Nothing changed or changes, yet all is made anew.
