What does "Love for Truth/God" mean?

5 posts in this topic

Leo is always saying that he loves Truth and that you need to have a "love/passion for truth" to be successful in this spiritual journey and that it is the foundation of all the spiritual work. But what exactly does it mean to love Truth? Does it mean to love the concept, the idea of Truth? Or do I have to experience it first in order to love it? I mean, how can I love something, if I actually dont know what it is? For example, how can I love sex, if I have never experienced it in my life? It's hard to just love the idea or the concept of sex, if I practically dont know what it is.

So do I have to experience Truth or God first in order to develop a love/passion for it and then start my spiritual journey afterwards?

Thanks guys(Im sure Leo will answer this aswell :))

You're mixing up love (your strong attachment to something) with Love (essentially another word for God/Truth/ Consciousness/Oneness/Etc).

What I believe you're describing is Leo's affinity to "figuring it out"or trying to "get to the bottom of this". Which, I'd assume we all have to a certain degree just to be here. Leo is a "seeker" just like you and me. I think that's what he means by "loving truth".

Oh and your spiritual journey has already begun friend ;)

@King Merk Well said.

@actualizing25 Life is an adventure. Deconstructing reality, beliefs, etc...to ‘get to’, or realize the truth, is the metadventure. Some people simply are not interested, some people are very interested. When one realizes the true nature of self & reality, one can not help but be in love.

@actualizing25 You don't have to experience Truth to have a desire to know Truth. If the desire is there go for it.

Imagine we find out there is some truth behind a door. I would get super curious. The rest if the day, I’d be wondering about that truth. What’s behind the door? Is it an object? A saying? An experience? A portal to another realm? . . . The rest of life would be a distraction. A cute gal might be flirting with me and my mind would be wondering whats the truth on the other side of that darn door. . .

And I wouldn’t care much whether that truth benefitted me or not.
