Was just watching this, funny how a big anti-socialist talking point is that "if you're not a pure capitalist then you're illiterate" yet he isn't really able to answer a basic question

lol if there was arbitration and mediation hired by a private party they would side with the side that gives them the most money

@Tanz Why male? I think women tend to be less in their head and more in touch with life, in a narrowly defined way. More emotionally and socially aware. They aren't building elaborate hyper-logical fantasies in their mind. 

Why white? I'm not quite as confident in answering that one. I'm sure white people being on average more well-off feeds into it. I get the impression these people generally don't come from lower class economically struggling families, which makes sense, because then they'd realize who such utopia would hurt - them and their family.

Because to be a libertarian requires an enormously previleged life. You have to be so disconnected from the realities of survival that you are clueless about things like racism, rape, abuse, exploitation, slavery, corruption, war, warlords, tribal warfare, gangs, etc.

It sure helps to be a young white male who grew up in the suburbs of America where no one had much of a chance to exploit you.

I found it interesting that the libertarian caller did not want to explore what his government-free dream world would actually be like. One would think if it was a libertarian utopia, he would want to talk about it. Someone like AOC would talk for hours about her vision for humanity, yet this caller kept a large distance from his libertarian vision. Sam had to keep pulling him back - asking what this libertarian reality would actually look like.

@Serotoninluv They tend to have simplistic and naive ideas of an ideal society, like everyone will live on his own private plot of land and trade with his neighbors peacefully. There's no appreciation of the complexity of human societies, cities, nations, businesses, courts, international trade, warfare, diplomacy, culture, education system, etc. There is no systems thinking. In the libertarian mind everyone is just an individual actor doing whatever he wants as long as it doesn't hurt others.

Of course there's always exceptions. I had a black libertarian friend. Black folks even vote for Trump. Go figure. Lol

More generally, libertarianism arises along with Spiral stage Orange, which trumps even race. The Orange value set is fertile soil for a libertarian ideology to arise.

That is a violation of the non-aggression principle and therefore impossible

Everyone is expected to behave according to the libertarian's personal system of morals. This is not a problem since his personal system of morals just so happens to be objectively true and universal.

@Markus I just noticed that because I saw some of their videos and noticed many of their audiences were white male.  Also their panelist tends to be that way except for someone like Candice Owens.  

Personally in my life most of the people I have met that claim to be libertarian were also white male this is why I assumed.  A lot of the time there were from someplace like Buffalo.  I grew up in diversity so being progressive is or was normal.  

My perspective is they grew up without being aware of privilege in an isolated place and saw that there were an outpouring of love and attention to minorities and women.. they didnt feel that kind of love so they felt unloved which resulted in unconscious loneliness.  This loneliness brought them to the libertarian ideology that everyone is also ALL alone and should only think about themselves.  

In the end they fail to internalize that loneliness and practiced self-love to the point where they realized that the same loneliness is the same loneliness that many others feel regardless of race, political party, gender and then become an agent of LOVE for all.

If you go to prison, you will experience gay rape with a knife on your neck.

By the way, living where no one had much of a chance to exploit you is a remarkable progress. That used to be for less than 0.1% of the population a few centuries ago.

it's good that at least some people live that kind of life. It'd be better to democratize freedom and privileges.

I want people to live enormously privileged lives.

@CreamCat What you're overlooking is that privelged people who have never been exploited and have no awareness of their own privelege then end up becoming the exploiters without even realizing it. This is bullying 101. The bully has no sense of what it's like to be on the receiving end of the bullying.

It helps to be bullied so you understand what it feels like.

That's a great fantasy to realize although that's a fantasy for now.

I know what they are thinking. They are thinking about a utopian future when they are biologically immortal and free of disease and wage slavery. To be honest, I'd like to live that future, too.

Some may want to become demi-gods walking among humans, too. Who wouldn't want to become demi-gods?

@Leo Gura That's an extreme example. The vast majority of bullies on most parts of this planet don't and can't do that. That may happen where security forces don't reach(e.g. prison, warzones, ...).

Most bullies aren't like that. That's certainly not an average bully.

Also, I would call such people criminals or gangsters rather than bullies.

In my mind, bullies work in subtler ways.
