Insomnia

4 posts in this topic

I've never had any patterns of insomnia that i'm aware of in the past.  But for the past several (I think only 2, but maybe 3) nights i've not been able to sleep till 4-5am.  I do have mid-term exams coming up.  But I've also been doing reiki on myself lately which is a new habit i've been developing.  I've also been eating more beets (the vegetable) than usual and am wondering if they have anything in them that would cause insomnia.

Does anyone have ideas for causes?  Solutions?  Your own case of insomnia and how you overcame it and what was the cause(s)?

Thanks

This could be one of the potential reasons. Do you feel more stressed than usual?

Beets can act as vascular relaxants and antiinflammatories but that shouldn't drive your insomnia. Hard to say from the limited information above. It could be due to late eating, electronic exposure, high cortisol, stimulants etc..

Anything else new in your life?

I am not too familiar with Reiki but if you learn to manipulate your energetics, maybe that could be doing something but hard to say. Reiki should be more grounding and calming as far as I know.

Very, very likely reiki.
I've been through this. So was my wife and my sister in law. Also things like waking up at 3.30...
To be completely honest, I am not sure if this is good or a bad thing, but from my observation reiki can really get truth out of you. Maybe it just makes you focusing on something that is bothering you in your life and that gives you hard time to fall asleep.
I have bought orgonite pendant to save my sleep and to my surprise it actually worked. Maybe worked to well, I have trouble waking up in the morning now and no chance alarm clock can get me up. Again, not sure if this is good or bad thing. From one hand I really like getting up early, from other hand I haven't been sleeping until so late in the morning since my childhood which supposedly seems to be a good thing.

Previously I used to struggle a lot to get sleep till mid night. All the worries and tensions actually make me suffer through insomnia which badly effected my next day routine. Later on one of my friend suggestion i started meditation using SOS Method app. Personally I have experienced the SOS Method (https://sosmethod.co/sleep-deprivation-effects-your-work-home-and-health/) that have helped who struggle with sleep, stress, anxiety and meditation. It's designed to give people access to mindfulness, inspiration, and that sweet spot of calm in just a few minutes, with eyes open or closed. There are meditations to help your relationships, improve your sleep, inspire you, calm your dog down, and many more. The SOS Method app is free on the iTunes and Google Play stores, so you can give it a try and see if it's right for you.
