@charlie2dogs A lie is something that is not true. The truth cannot be conveyed through language. Every word is lie. We are all the truth. How is it that the truth lies to itself? All is Shiva friend and is how it should be.

i think you have some newage thinking involved in this.  The human identity has no access to reality which is what truth is, a self realized being experiences reality and can speak to it, but not as the human identity.  No human identity that i have ever known can even define reality or say where it is found and what is required to access it.  I have ask that question and two others to a great number of people, how do you know when what you think you know is real,  and what is your justification for even existing.  The human identity cannot answer these questions, they can only speculate or make up things, or give someone else's words for it, it requires the living experience as a self realized being to understand and know these things.

@charlie2dogs That sounds like emptiness. It is a terribly interesting and complex idea. If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise? That question allowed me to begin to see what people mean by emptiness because it can be applied to existence in general.

Has nothing to do with emptiness, why would you think that when it has to do only with being self realized and functioning as a self realized being that is able to see reality instead of illusions.  Human beings, who function as the identity have made it complex with all their methods, doctrines, philosophies, paths, journeys, religions, that have people going here and there with no destination to achieve and no expectation of arrival.  They have created many levels to enlightenment where there are none,  you are self realized are you ain't there is no levels.  What does a tree falling in the woods have to do with anything i said?

I make it simple because it is simple, it does away with all those methods, doctrines, philosophies, paths, journeys, religions which are not much more than distractions.

@charlie2dogs Look into dependent-arising phenomena and the lack on inherent existence. Essentially what I was saying with the tree is that without an awareness of reality how can reality exist if there is nothing to be conscious of it. In this way, all of reality relies on awareness and awareness relies on reality.

the human identity functions as an unconscious entity therefore no reality, it is operating on programing, false belief system, and a warped perception of everything it has never touched reality and never will.  Reality can only be experienced by a self realized being.

I personally believe that it is the intent if the things you say, not if the content of those things are factually correct. For instance, when flirting with someone you like you can tell all kinds of teasing little lies, that does not make you a bad person. Or let's say, that you lie because you are honestly trying to protect someone from possible harm. In both instances, these lies can actually come from a place of truth. I believe that you can tell a lie from a place of truth but these instances are not going to arise very frequently. 

If I have to interpret the OP. He says that he has to lie to get along with people. Let me say this, when you in some way present yourself differently than you really are people are probably not going to like you for who you really are. Even if you can keep up the charade for a long time, people are going to find out eventually and think you a fraud. And even if you do manage to keep it up, people are always going to have that slight little feeling that something is off with you which prevents you from building authentic relationships with people. This does not make them happy, and this definitely does not make you happy.
