The disadvantage of meditation

I don't believe any affects are negative overall, but meditation appears to raise uncomfortable thoughts and/or feelings for some. However, these difficulties need to be addressed anyway in my opinion. I don't believe in blaming meditation for this. It's just bringing up what is there, like an invitation to work on your self. 

Often you need to go back 1 step to move 2 steps forward.

Remember, those negative things coming up only means that you are healing yourself. It is not something to fear, but to be embraced. Good luck on your meditation journey.

My biggest disappointment with meditation was that this field is big as fuck. There is all kind of meditation disciplines and there is so much stuff to master (Concentration, observation, feeling your body, breathwork, visualization, contemplative inquiry, witchcraft, meditative sex, etc) it's just overwhelming.
Once you get into this swamp you can't just focus on your breath anymore, like you used to do when you were young
