Thinking About Ways To Use This Forum For Accountability

1 post in this topic

So - and I know a lot of you are having the same problem - I have always been struggling with installing new habits. Wether it is reading, working on my dreams, studying, eating healthier, cold showers, etc, everytime I try to install one I either fail completely or it works for a while; untill laziness kicks in and it doesn't. Commitment is recommitment so I am not giving up. However it has been like this ever since I found out about self help and that was two years ago. I have made little progress and it is quite frustrating.

Since social encouragement is very motivating but so many of us are surrounded by toxic/unambitious people that  aren't initiated into self help I thought we might be able to use each other.

So the other day I came up with an idea to use this forum to install habits more efficiently.

Everyone that wants to join comments in this thread what habit they'd like to install. Everyday they succesfully follow through with their intentions, they post that and everyone else in the thread must give that person a thumbs up (triggers dopamine in brain).  If they fail, then they don't recieve a thumbs up, but encouragement.

What do you think? Is this too complicated? I haven't really thaught about this a lot, if anyone has a better idea to use each other for motivation please tell us.
