Unstoppable hiccups after fasting

3 posts in this topic

Immediately after the first bite of food hits my stomach after a 7-Day fast, I hiccup with virtually no recourse every 10 seconds for the next 4 days at least.

I've never seen hiccups mentioned in any of the research I've done about fasting. Anybody got any ideas? Is this something I should be worried about?

You are probably eating too fast, try chew your food properly, digestion starts off in the mouth. Chew for at least 20 - 30 times before swallowing. Breathe gently and deeply when eating, don't multi task and watch tv or be on your phone when you eat, put your full attention on the source of nourishment as your body wants you to enjoy the food and nourish yourself, that's what fasting teaches you if you observed but not stuffing yourself and treating food just as a source of energy. Your body wants you to be more gentle and respectful, spiritual and passionate when eating and you may be ignoring that thus the hiccups playing out.

See how that goes, also don't over think it too much because you may be creating a false belief that "it always happens" which only feeds the belief to come stronger and stronger then it will be harder to rewire that belief if it becomes hard-wired.

Hope this helps :)
