How long does enlightenment occur?

I am just curious, enlightenment occurs suddenly but after the day it vanishes. Can enlightenment last longer or forever?

Realization of your eternal nature is always available to you, but most of the time, you are not willing to let go completely on all levels. It all comes down to how much resistance you are creating to your natural state.

@Rujan Mehar Bajracha Enlightenment is not a destination. It is a continual and progressive unfolding and refinement.

According to the Vissidhimagga, the start of the first stage of enlightenment is when one passes through the dark night into total acceptance of all/equanimity. This can only be done by transcending the ego and its grasping and aversions.

Enlightenment is occurring all the time..all you need to do is just stop, Stop. That all you need to acknowledge the true nature of existence...
