Vipasana Meditation Retreat

5 posts in this topic

I got inspired by Leo's minimalism video and booked a 10 day Vipasana course.

guess what?

its the second day and I'm typing this.

basically, I quit. I felt like it was too much for me. Now what do I do how do I become minimalist in such a way that my mind doesn't violently over react I quit everything? How do I make it happen slowly and gradually?

What do you mean, are you saying that you are at the retreat right now?

Haha dude just stay!, the first 5 days are the toughest, after that the mind will start to ease a bit.

And turn off your phone.

I'm only assuming you are at the retreat.

I recommend going back and giving it another shot.
It helps if you can build up to the 10 days.
i've done a few retreats to them and been tempted to quit many a time but stay for 10 days and the rewards you get are unspeakable

@Hardik jain A Vipasanna retreat is pretty hardcore. You should start with just building up a 20-minute daily meditation practice. Do that for a year or two, then try Vipasanna again.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura

I am really interested in attending a retreat someday. I feel like isolated and focused meditation could really help ground my work. Do you have any tips so I may get a better idea of how it is like?

...Honestly, I may have misconceptions of such retreats being awkward. I mean that I feel very awkward in religious settings, for example, or like situations where people are openly spiritual.
