Stepping Into The Unknown

5 posts in this topic

It's official. Two weeks from Tuesday is my last day in the corporate world. After months of thinking about it and writing my thoughts and filling my head and heart with positive thoughts, the right time is finally here. I'm scared, of course, but more so excited.

Two months ago I got engaged. Yesterday our engagement ended. I'm 28 years old and am just recently realizing that I have lived my entire life thinking, seeing and doing what society had told me to do. I barely even recognize myself sometimes, my perspective is constantly evolving. So many things I've known to be true are lies.

On my agenda: Heading to Kansas to spend a bit of time with family and let my mind calm down. Remember how to read and learn how to be. Discover my passion. Chillax. Eat well. Smile. Just be.

This is incredible news. This is going to be a truly beautiful and life changing time for you! I want to share with you a couple of tips that I wish I would've understood during a similar period in my life.

Times will continue get "tough", but know that while continuing along this path it will only get better. Illusions of the ego will try to hold you down and take you back to your old ways. Its important to stay focused.

Of course the main issue besides the ego, is the people close to you. During my journey, everyone looked down on me for similar life choices I made. Nothing I did was "right" anymore and everyone thought I was changing in the worst way. These kinds of opinions can drop you to the ground and hold you there. It's incredibly important to find the love in these views, to be at peace with whatever anyone tells you, and to keep going regardless. There's no point in arguing or trying to recruit people, I find it best to simply be quiet and accept everyone even if their views seem horrible. If they seem interested however, they will get an earful :D

Identify everything that limits you and bust through them. Identify ego traps and break free. Make it so every situation you come across is a win-win based on your perception. Most importantly, take your time and don't rush things. Ironically, this is the simplest thing you will do, if things start to complicate just take time to calm down and simplify your work.

I'm not sure of your current situation but I hope any of this helps you in some way. Have fun, time to start living!

That's a deep paradigm shift your going through! You will learn a lot from this.

You didn't ask for any advice, but I'd like to give some anyway. It's easy to think that society is bullshit and that we have been fooled the whole time, leading us to completely fight against it. I believe that's a trap. There are a lot of good things, and there are a lot of bad things in society. There's never black and white, right or wrong. So it's important to be smart about it, and humble.

If one breaks lose completely from society, one will probably have to work ten times harder, but one also got the opportunity to get a million more back in return. Don't get caught up in the numbers, you get my point. :)

I wish you good luck and I hope you'll share your insights if you find some. :D

@Corte thank you so much for your kind words. I am encountering much of what you explained with friends and loved ones thinking that I've gone crazy, but I can feel something inside pulling me forward and know that this is the right thing to do.

Again, thank you for your response. Excited for the uncertainty ahead :)

@Vigi Thank you!

You're 100% right about society. It's nice to fantasize about completely pulling away and going off of the grid, but that's not really a realistic option, haha. As I become more and more awake I'm finding my previous dogmatic beliefs more and more amusing. I'm genuinely enjoying uncovering and understanding lies that so many of us take as true.

My main focus is on slowing things down, hitting the emergency brake on my current pace of life. Looking forward to putting Leo's Life Purpose course to use and figuring out what I am here to do. Excited to align my passion with the way I spend my time daily.

Any and all advice is welcomed with open arms here :)✌️
