Pick one truth you firmly believe in and try to prove it wrong.

It's probably not new, but I thought this little game could be interesting and enriching.

@Fuku This is a great exercise against bias. I use it pretty much all the time, it almost became like OCD for me lol. Ok so let's try

Life is hard, there is more suffering in life than pleasure and it's probably better never to have been.

Arguments against:

The ratio of suffering to pleasure may change for the better in the future

Suicide is almost always possible for anyone all the time if suffering becomes unbearable so one may as well be born and keep on deciding whether or not he wants to live.

You've tried to use two hypotheticals to mitigate the statement. Nothing is disproven

Now, that's a projection!

@Fuku Language and beliefs are inherently dualistic and humans tend to become attached/identified to one side of a dualism. So, it can be helpful to see the opposite side of the dualism - yet "right" vs "wrong" is still a dualistic framework and highly contracted/limited.

@Fuku haha, I've done enough of these to understand that any truths expressed through words are relative and partial. So from another certain perspective, every truth must be false.

For instance, let's say I believe "I am alive." Probably the most "indisputable" truth that 99.9% of human race believes. But upon further inspection, you realize that you picked up this notion of "alive" from your culture growing up, and you were told it contrasted with "death." But, have you ever experienced death? "Well no, duh, then I wouldn't be alive to communicate it!" And Bam! If you're savvy then it hits you. "How can I prove I'm not dead? Isn't this circular logic? Holy shit, am I not the only authority on what state I'm in? Does life and death even exist?" Everyone believes they are alive and Ghandi is dead, but no one can actually prove it. It's an a priori truth, and of course those are the ones that should be questioned the most. It's like the queen of diamonds at the bottom of a precarious house of cards.

Love which becomes attached to objects of sense becomes desire. Desire is a byproduct of attachment and love. Attachment is the cause of suffering of the finite mind because  love is eternal, immortal and everlasting.

What about the suffering that comes without attachment?

Isn't that at least in some instances a form of Conscious Love?

Guess I'll go with the above.

and

The mere transitoriness of matter that we are incarnated in. The three gunas. Illnesses and death. Cause and effect and its retribution. Natures eternal fitness of evolution. The want of harmony and absence of good of other people that effect us. Just by existing it can be painful.

All comes from nature and its laws and i guess, it sums up being part of the highest love in the end. (maybe)
